    Goals Essay

    It is considered a critical part of any teenager’s high school experience to make a set of

    goals for yourself. Goals are important as they help one focus on what they want to accomplish

    in the short and long term. For myself, I would like to graduate high school within the top 10%

    of my class and achieve an Associate’s degree in electrical engineering. After completing

    college, I would like to move closer to Atlanta and Georgia Power in order to find better, more

    available work opportunities. In my spare time I would like to start renovating older cars and

    have my own 1969 Dodge Charger. Traveling to Japan for a vacation has always been something

    I’ve wanted to do. These goals will require various amounts of time and dedication, but

    eventually my educational, career, and personal goals will be accomplished.

    Educational goals are the first set of goals that can be accomplished. Once I graduate

    from High school, I intend on attending Kennesaw State University a major in electrical

    engineering. I will finish Mechatronics training at the Bartow College and Career Academy to

    gain to complete rudimentary training. In addition to formal training, I will receive less formal

    training from my father who is an electronic technician. Once I graduate from Kennesaw State, I

    will try to enter a paid apprenticeship program in order to gain a further understanding in

    engineering.

    Once I finish my studies and apprenticeship, I will be ready to start working on career-

    based goals. I will start by getting a job at Georgia Power as an electrician, but my true dream

    job is to run an entire division as an electrical engineer. I envision myself working in a large

    power plant, with machines all around me that need my experience to be fixed. Everyday will

    keep me on my feet and busy, which is something that is very important to me. I imagine myself

    becoming some one my co-workers look up to, as someone who’s help is needed.

    Life would be life if we only focused on our career and educational goals, our own

    personal goals are just as important. I want to renovate old cars and sell them off as a way to help

    afford vacations to Japan. I would like an older car that I managed to renovate myself,

    specifically a black 1969 Dodge Charger. I plan on living in a upper-middle class suburban

    neighborhood close to Atlanta. My ultimate goal is to own a condo on the Florida beach, as a

    way to rent out, and as an escape for vacation. Personal goals are not just any other type of goal,

    they are the goals the really separate us from everyone else.

    Goals are a very important part of a person’s life, whether they are educational, career-

    based, or personal. I want to graduate Kennesaw State University with a Associates degree in

    electrical engineering. Getting a job in Atlanta near Georgia Power would be my dream job. My

    dream car that I want own would be a 1969 Dodge Charger with a oceanside condo that I can

    rent out. While these goals may not be able to be accomplished right now, I can start working

    towards them today.
