Group 2: Cartoffel

I. Brief Description
Cartoffel is a food company that produces a potato-based product, Karto Bites, by which
potatoes are mashed and are molded into small balls stuffed with cheese cubes, then are baked or
toasted, rather than fried; a snack that is suited for all ages. Our company, Cartoffel, was coined
up by incorporating the word “cart” and “kartoffel” which is the deútsch word for “potatoes''.
The product will surely capture the interest of consumers with much food competing these days,
Cartoffel can still compete due to its affordability, quality and availability. The company aims to
serve products that are both nutritious and on-the-go.

II. Concept
Filipinos are naturally hospitable and welcoming. In between the three meals of the day,
snacking is done twice, the first being in the midmorning and the other in the afternoon.We
Filipinos love to eat and food is the basis of our social life. As the popularity of the healthy
lifestyle, and the trend of having health conscious diets grows, many are looking for a healthy
and otherwise new alternative for them to enjoy snacks without feeling guilty of cheating on
their diet.
Cartoffel’s Karto Bites, otherwise known as “potato cheese balls”, is a healthy light
hearted snack that uses potato as its main ingredient, which will be sourced locally as to promote
and help our local farmers. The Karto Bites are also baked or toasted instead of fried, in contrast
to present-day fast food, which is unhealthy due to the excessive amount of oil used. The snack
bites are placed in biodegradable paper box containers with different sizes to hold the product,
great for consumers who are on-the-go and can be eaten solo or may include any combination of
sauces, such as ketchup, barbeque sauce, and garlic sauce.

III. Benefits to Future Customers, Clients, and Market


A. Future Customers
Cartoffel aims to serve products that are both nutritious and on-the-go, in order to satisfy
our consumers as they also serve as the promoters of the business. With good customer service,
customers would likely buy or promote the business as a sign of customer loyalty. Satisfying
their needs and listening to the suggestions, it would likely allow Cartoffel to expand to a diverse
consumer base and be a strong competitor to other food businesses or companies that have
similar products as ours.
B. Clients
Cartoffel creates value in our healthy and affordable snacks in purchasing them easily
through the use of delivery service applications. By bringing consumers and delivery
applications together, consumers benefit by purchasing the snack without having to travel far or
leave their safe premises.
C. Market
The company positions itself as a contemporary alternative setting for social conventions
and get-togethers that aim to stand as a household name for family bondings, friendly hangouts,
and dates offering reasonably priced products. As Cartoffel is a rising food company with a fresh
new twist on eating snacks, the establishment promotes increased efficiency and increases
competition, this way it would capture a larger market share for our products due to our healthy
and reasonably priced snacks. The company would also increase the productivity and motivation
to the local suppliers, as the ingredients that would be used are sourced locally, helping them
earn for their living.
