INTRODUCTION
assessment for learning is practiced, students know at the outset of a unit of study what
they are expected to learn. Where in education in the broader sense is any act or
experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an
individual. In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately
transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another.
Study skills or study strategies are approaches applied to learning. They are
generally critical to success in school[1], are considered essential for acquiring good
grades, and are useful for learning throughout one's life. There are an array of study
skills, which may tackle the process of organizing and taking in new information,
retaining information, or dealing with assessments. They include mnemonics, which aid
the retention of lists of information, and effective notetaking.[2] While often left up to the
student and their support network, study skills are increasingly taught at High School
and University level. A number of books and websites are available, from works on
successful studying.
More broadly, any skill which boosts a person's ability to study and pass exams
can be termed a study skill, and this could include time management and motivational
techniques. Study Skills or habits are discrete techniques that can be learned, usually in
a short time, and applied to all or most fields of study. They should therefore be
distinguished from strategies that are specific to a particular field of study e.g. music or
technology, and from abilities inherent in the student, such as aspects of intelligence or
learning style.
in learning so that we could impart the best knowledge we learn in the actual field of our
endeavors. For there are no such thing as dull its only a matter of positive thinking that
what we desire in life could be achieve with perseverance. According to Gardner (1999)
state that the concept of intelligence as traditionally defined in psychometrics (IQ tests)
does not sufficiently describe the wide variety of cognitive abilities humans display. For
example, the theory states that a child who learns to multiply easily is not necessarily
more intelligent than a child who has stronger skills in another kind of intelligence.
our best tool in facing all type of challenges in the future. Learning should be an integral
part of our behavior. Hence, each learner is a unique individual with different abilities,
interests, and ways of thinking and responding thus these characteristics have a
significant influence on ones learning style. It is being realized that students use
different learning strategies .They have different methods of reading, interpreting and
coding the information .Sometimes these strategies are useful, but some students
aware of learning process. Effective study skills must be practiced in order for you to
improve. It is not enough to simply "think about" studying; you have to actually do it, and
in the process use information from what you do to get better. A schedule should be
made with the idea that it can be revised. A good schedule keeps a person from
wandering off course. A good schedule when it is properly managed, assigns time
where time is needed, but personal motivation to follow it is critical. A schedule should
take into account every class, laboratory, lecture, social event, Effective study skills
must be practiced in order for you to improve. It is not enough to simply "think about"
studying; you have to actually do it, and in the process use information from what you
do to get better. This is the central idea of this essay. Before one even begins to think
about the process of studying, there must develop a schedule. If there is not a schedule
or plan for studying, then there will be no way of allocating valuable study. A good, well
thought out schedule can be quite valuable. However, it is the student's responsibility to
develop a schedule that meets personal needs. Revise it if necessary, and most
