MOREH ACADEMY is responsive to the critical years of the child ‘s growing process in preparation for his higher
education and his adjustments to the continuing changes in all aspects of life.
I. SUBJECT DESCRIPTION:
The K to 12 science curriculum is learner-centered and inquiry-based, emphasizing the use of evidence in constructing
explanations. Concepts and skills in Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Earth Sciences are presented with increasing
levels of complexity from one grade level to another in spiral progression, thus paving the way to a deeper understanding of
core concepts. The integration across science topics and other disciplines will lead to a meaningful understanding of
concepts and its application to real-life situations.
II. SUBJECT OBJECTIVES: At the end of the subject, the students should be able to:
Cognitive:
1. Understand the importance of the Periodic Table of the Elements, how it came to be, and its role in
organizing chemical information.
2. Understand the interdisciplinary nature of chemistry and to integrate knowledge of mathematics, physics and
other disciplines to a wide variety of chemical problems.
3. Learn the laboratory skills needed to design, safely conduct and interpret chemical research.
4. Acquire a foundation of chemistry of sufficient breadth and depth to enable them to understand and critically
interpret the primary chemical literature.
5. Develop the ability to effectively communicate scientific information and research results in written and oral
formats.
6. Learn professionalism, including the ability to work in teams and apply basic ethical principles.

1. Begin to relate the principles learned in chemistry to the chosen area of study.
2. Appreciate how important simple reactions of organic compounds to our society.
3. Appreciate the importance and benefits of studying chemistry in our society.
