OBJECTIVES
T-rain future teachers in assuming the multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted roles of teachers.
E-ducate through appropriate experiences in student teaching programs.
A-chieve competencies in teaching by the use of multimedia and Instructional devices.
C-ollaborate in co-curricular and extra-curricular interactive activities.
H-eart in the practice of Teaching Profession.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES FOR BSE and BEED
A. Articulate the rootedness of education in philosophical, socio-cultural, historical, psychological and political contexts
B. Demonstrate mastery of subject matter/discipline;
C. Facilitate learning using a wide range of teaching methodologies and delivery modes appropriate to specific learners and their environments;
D. Develop innovative curricula, instructional plans, teaching approaches, and resources for diverse learners;
E. Apply skills in the development and utilization of ICT to promote quality, relevant, and sustainable educational practices;

G. Practice professional and ethical teaching standards sensitive to the local, national, and global realities;
H. Pursue lifelong learning for personal and professional growth through varied experiential and field-based opportunities.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course covers three (3) Field Study courses, namely; FS 4, FS 5, FS 6, the following are the descriptions of each course:

FS 4- Exploring the Curriculum

This course allows students to apply and verify knowledge gained on curriculum development through exposure to the existing curriculum. It shall also provide insights to students
on how the curriculum can be effectively implemented.

FS 5- Learning Assessment Strategies

This course allows the students to have hands-on experience in selecting


constructing and evaluating authentic and alternative assessment tools in the learning environment based on the principles of teaching

FS 6- On Becoming a Teacher

This course is designed to complement the professional education subject, “The Profession/Seminar in Education”. It shall bring about real life and vicarious experience of a
teacher as a person and as a professional. It shall provide a wide array of opportunities for self-reflection that would prepare one to become a student teacher.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the semester, students should be able to:
1. verify the child’s behavior in the actual learning environment;
2. gain learning opportunities to examine application of teaching theories and principles in the environment;
3. enrich experiences in developing and utilizing appropriate technology to facilitate learning;
4. adapt to change and innovation in the curriculum;
5. improve learning with the use of flexible e-learning system
6. Manifest knowledge and skills in planning , implementing and assessing curriculum appropriate to the needs of the learners
7. Demonstrate appropriate qualities of a professional and global teacher.
