1. Code of Kalantiaw
Fake Article:

Brief Summary:
They read the code of kalantiaw In the hisorical fiction The Ancient Legend of
the Island of Negros written by Jose E. Marco. According to the book, It has 18 laws
written before spaniards came, he was named Kalantiaw. It was written at Aklan in the
year 1433.

Right Information:
In the year 1960, historians doubted the Code of Kalantiaw, they started to
questioned the validity of the code because no historical events in Aklan has traced to
prove the existence of this Code. A historian named William Henry Scott was able to
prove that Jose E. Marco fabricated the Code. In 2004, the National Historical
Institute officialy declared that the Code of Kalantiaw is a hoax.

2. Magellan discovered the Philippines

Brief Summary:
On March 16, 1521, Portuguese navigator, Ferdinand Magellan
attempting to sail around the World from Spain, reached the Philippine
Archipelago. Ferdinand Magellan claimed that he discovered the Philippines
and they called it Las Felipinas.

Right Information:
The first people who lived in the Phillipine Archipelago are Negritos,
Proto Malay and Malay, who has been lived for about 40,000 years ago. On
Palawan there are human bones that was found about 22,000 years ago. The
Philippines was first occupied by people who arrived from Mainland Asia. They
believed that Negritos was the first people who arrived in the Philippine
Archigpelago.

3. Princess Urduja

Brief Summary:
Princess Urduja is a story about a princess who protects her kingdom
Tawilis which known to be Pangasinan. The said story first appeared in the
book by an Arab traveler named Ibn Batuta.

Right Information:
According to a Filipino Historian, Xiao Chua The story of Princess
Urduja is just a hoax. Xiao Chua explained that “Si Princess Urduja pala ay
based sa isang legend. Hindi siya nag-e-exist talaga, ang history kasi nakabatay
sa documentation. So, walang documentation about the existence of Princess
Urduja.” (GMA network, 2015)

However, the story of the Pangasinan amazon princess still persists among
Pinoys because: “Hanggang ngayon makikita natin na bahagi pa rin si Urduja
ng [ating] kasaysayan. Among professional historians, she is considered not a
hoax but a myth. Such as the kingdom of Tawalisi that did not even exist here in
the Philippines,” said Dr. Victor Torres. (GMA network, 2015)
