Activity #1 - ASSURE Model Lesson Plan

EDUC 110 GROUP 5- B1

Lesson Title: Cell

Grade Level: Grade 10
Lesson Length: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Teacher: Mr. Oliver Madlos

I. Analyze Learners

Learners’ general characteristics:

The lesson is designated for 10th-grade secondary students. The area is a rural high
school that consists of a class of 24 students. A number of 9 and 15 students were
classified as females and males, respectively. Ages range between 14-16 years old.
Most students are Butuanon, and about 20% of the males belong to the Maranao
groups. No students have been officially identified as gifted and persons with
disabilities. Five students are classified as “living with poverty”, while the remaining of
the class comes from working and middle-class families. Different learning styles and
academic abilities are identified. Generally, student’s attention span falls between 10-15
minutes. The students are already familiar and have been introduced to Cells.

Entry characteristics:
Many students in this class are knowledgeable about using technology like computers,
cellphones, and tablets. They already have an account/profile on social networking sites
and proficient with technology-based materials such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint
presentation, etc. However, this has been limited to the use of online simulations for
laboratories and other online media tools used for learning.

Learning Styles
Although the class comprised varied learning styles and multiple intelligences, most of
the students in this class are visual (spatial intelligence) and kinesthetic learners.
II. State Standards and Objectives

This lesson is designed to meet Content and Performance Standards for K to 12

certain organelles.

Objective 2: Performance Standard

The learners should be able to employ appropriate techniques using the
compound microscope to gather data about very small objects.

S7LT-IIe-5
