The son of Landulph, count of Aquino, Saint Thomas Aquinas was born circa 1225 in Roccasecca, Italy,
near Aquino, Terra di Lavoro, in the Kingdom of Sicily. Thomas had eight siblings, and was the youngest
child. His mother, Theodora, was countess of Teano. Though Thomas' family members were
descendants of Emperors Frederick I and Henry VI, they were considered to be of lower nobility. Saint
Thomas Aquinas spent the next five years completing his primary education at a Benedictine house in
Naples. During those years, he studied Aristotle's work, which would later become a major launching
point for Saint Thomas Aquinas's own exploration of philosophy. At the Benedictine house, which was
closely affiliated with the University of Naples, Thomas also developed an interest in more
contemporary monastic orders. He was particularly drawn to those that emphasized a life of spiritual
service, in contrast with the more traditional views and sheltered lifestyle he'd observed at the Abbey of
Monte Cassino.
In my opinion the difference between body and soul is that the body is the physical form of a human
being. It is the vessel where the soul is situated. While the soul is the spiritual aspect of a human being.
It is a spiritual essence that live when the body is no longer functional or is gone.
Aristotle
In contrast as to Plato’s claim that the soul is imprisoned in the material referred to as body, Aristotle’s
belief is that of the soul is the animator of the body, the body acts as the matter to the soul. Hence, the
soul is the animator of the body and the body is the matter of the soul. For Aristotle, everything that
exists of matter and form, matter and form is indeed inseparable. One cannot talk about an object if
either of these entities are present. For him, body and soul constitutes the human person as whole.
Aristotle claims that man has one supreme end or final good for man. By this he implies that every
activity aims to achieve some good or end. The man’s final end is to be happy, similarly, happiness is the
consequence of possessing the true good. And his happiness lies on the activity of reason, that is, to be
able to contemplate (expressing or involving prolonged thought) the highest good of man. In simpler
terms, happiness depends on ourselves happiness is a final end or goal that encompasses the totality of
one's life. It is not something that can be gained or lost in a few hours, like pleasurable sensations. It is
more like the ultimate value of your life, the essence of your life as lived up to this moment, measuring
how well you have lived up to your full potential as a human being.
Thomas Aquinas
The human person is composed both body and spirit. The human person has material (the body) and a
spiritual aspect (the soul). Man is also a rational animal. His intellectual nature makes him different from
other beings. He is endowed with freedom and judgment and choice. In addition, Thomas believed that
there is one entity, absolutely speaking, at any time there is a being having one act of existence despite
of the being is composed of numerous parts.
In Thomas beliefs in the attainment of happiness he stated that happiness is the last end of rational
nature. And happiness conceits the absolute good. It is something belonging to the soul but that which
constitutes happiness outside the soul. But happiness cannot only be found in material objects but in
attainment of spiritual satisfaction. Spiritual happiness is the perfect good, but since, God is the absolute
good, therefore God can can make man become absolutely happy.

These abrupt increase in demands leads the manifcturesrs to double their production and build more
factories to keep up with the demads. Thus resulting in pollution coming from factories making these
demands. The products made by these companies are wrapped in plastic. Where people just merely
disposes them everywhere without thinking the possible outcomes of their actions. Every corner of the
earth that is inhabited ny humans we see pollution, from soil, air, water, and even sound pollution.
In out generation today, we experience the worst out of everything. The icecaps in the
polarregions are starting to melt due to climate change this cases a rise on the water level. Ozone layer
is depleting and again due to human’s continuous emission of chloroflocarbons. We can see garbage
everywhere from land to sea. The fire break out in the amazon recently.
All of these events have a root cause, it is heart breaking to say but, we, we are the cause of all of these.
We the humans are what guiding the earth to its destruction. Imagine a world without humans, no more
factories, no more emissions of smoke, vegetation can roam free. It would be a paradise. But that’s not
the case. Although some are taking action, by their little acts they make a change in this wicked world.
From clean up drives, cleaning the shores and even scientists making solutions in the said dilemma. We
can all make a change, we need to be more knowledgeable in our daily acts if whether it is bad for the
environment or not. Humans need to understand the concept of family planning, birth control to reduce
the world’s increasing birth rates. Together as one, not by only as a country, bt as a whole, humans
beings in unity, helping hand by hand in making a change.
The first philosophical approach is the deep ecology and it was coined by arned naess, kvaloy, and nills
faarlund. According to naess, deep ecology affirms the means that no matter how small or big the things
that surround us, they possess some kind of intrinsic value which is important in creating balance in
nature. Base on my understanding. Arned naess, is implying that deep ecology is an environmental
philosophy which promotes the inherent worth of all living beings regardless of their instrumental utility
to human needs. To discuss this further, it means that all living beings has its own value regardless to its
use to humans. For instance, a tree, to us humans we see trees as a material that is solid and optimal
material for construction. But, based on the belief of the deep ecology, they see the tree as equal to all
living beings, on how we should treat others, that is also what you should treat a tree. The said
philosophical approach promotes that humans must change drastically their beliefs and relationship
with the environment. By recognizing the true value in all the things that surround us so that we are
able to live in harmony with our environment. the result in recognizing the deep ecology is that people
will be more knowledgeable with their interactions with the environment, humans will be conscious to
the importance of preservation of natural equilibrium.
Another philosophical approach to the study of the environment is social ecology. Social ecology, as a
theory was developed by Murray Bookchin. According to him, social ecology provides an analysis of the
patterns and forms of interrelationships between the human person and her environment. social
ecology is the most powerful environmental philosophy because it offers the understanding and unity of
both natural and social worlds. Thus eliminating the ideas of communism, liberism and of the “isms”. In
my opinion, social ecology should be recognize because if explores and understand the human
interactions towards nature, by understanding these we can further expand our knowledge towards the
causes and effects of these global catastrophes.
Finally, the third philosophical approach is transpersonal ecology and was developed by Warwick Kox in
1990. Transpersonal ecology employs psychological approaches in analyzing the relationship between
humans and the environment. it ecology explains the tripartite aspects of human self which gives us the
theoretical basis of our attitude towards our environment. in other words, it gives us understanding of
our attitude towards the environment. as suggested by the transpersonal ecology, it is beneficial for us
to understand our behavior and know the importance of the environment. and also, we must
understand our role in the life’s cycle.
Regarding the current issue of Manila bay planned by the department of environment and natural
resources, my opinion would be that I acknowledge their towards the rehabilitation of manila bay. Their
idea was to place artificial sand namely dolomite for the manila bay to have a white sand beach.
Although, it may seem to be a stellar idea but in my opinion, it would be a loss in our part because the
appearance of manila bay is its own identity and changing it would be forgetting its culture and history.
And I think they have bot completely thought this through, for instance, what if there is a typhoon and
strong waves, water surges would happen, the sand would inevitably be washed out by the water. And it
was said that the dolomite was mined through a mountain, by that reason only we could only imagine
the environmental impacts of such said action. I would strongly disagree to DENR’s project because
there is too much environmental damage. But for what? To increase tourism? If that’s their reason they
cancel their project and should start minimizing the damages they caused to the environment.

One of my experiences where faith was tested was, when I was batangas for the THF congress where we
competed with schools at there at batangas. We stayed there for 5 days and we rented hotels. At the
time we were at batangas my faith or my belief was tested. Those were situations that I have to think
and justify whether if I do those actions what would it result and would it be okay for the eyes of the
Lord. So my experience would be the time that we were at the hotel, I was alone because my
roommates were out buying food. And suddenly there I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door
and I saw a girl which is more than my friend but less than girlfriend. She went inside the room with me
and lay on the bed and so did I, we talked for a couple of minutes and then she suggested that we do
something that was in appropriate. There I was shocked and somehow gleeful by the words she
whispered to my ears. I was hesitant of course, my thought were if agree we would have a great time
and if I disagree, I would never have that chance again. But I thought what would God think, what would
God think if I agreed. So in the end, I gently turned her down and luckily she took it well and we
continued to converse.
I was able to reason and choose what would be the best thing to do. As a result, I proved my faith upon
Him and at the same time made the optimal decision which was to decline, thus securing my future and
hers.
Lesson 3
1. Pharaoh was pleased of joseph because of his god-given wisdom. And for that reason, he
appointed joseph of gathering of food for the coming famine. He made joseph the second ruler
of the land of Egypt, his right hand if you may.
2. Joseph did indeed went through many sufferings. One was how his brothers hated him because
he was their fathers favorite son. By that reason, it drove them to kill him. But instead the
brothers sold him to the ishmaelites. Second was when he was accused of rape by the wife of
his master and was casted to prison.
3. For me, joseph as a brother is kind, generous and loving. Even though he was betrayed by his
older brothers he did not hold any grudge against them. He did not though even once to seek
revenge against those who have sinned against him. Instead he showed compassion in their
time of need.
4. Some, when they have bad situations that may seem far too impossible to overcome, they tend
to think in giving up. And there is also some people, including myself, who face these situations
head on because we believe and have faith to God that He is with us and will ensure our success
because in God everything is possible.
5. One of my “broken moments” was when me and my friend broke up. It may sound bizarre that
how could to people break up when they are only friends. I know that it is strange but that’s
what happened. So after that I felt devastated, I went to a stage of depression, every night I
could not sleep well, I was mourning day and night. I kept asking my friends on how shpuld I
deal with thte matter at hand. But I figured it out, I just need to let it all out, if I wanted to cry
just cry if I wanted to keep clinging to the memories we had I would. But the important thing is
that I know what ii did wrong and I wold learn from it. I pary to God that I would get through
this hard times and give me courage to wake up every day and try. I did not see her because it
happened when the quarantine was took into action, but there was an instance that we both
were the only ones left at a video call. It was weird, it felt awkward, and all of the memories
went rushing through my head.
One thingtha I think everyone should learn is that don’t expect too much on something because
when that expectation did not come into reality it would jst hrt you badly.
Lesson 4
Writing something you haven’t experienced it is quite challenging. The task was to write my own
experiences in which God has called me for a mission. If ever He called me for a mission I
thinkn it would be to make other people happy. Because my life is not what you may call
pleasant, yes, people may see me as a happy person. But in reality I just trying to cover my pain
through my smiles. My parents see me as a person I think that don’t feel anything or can just
take their daily anger and throw it at me. While my other siblings get care, love, understanding
and attention. What makes me think that the calling God gave me was making people happy
because, I myself went through pain and sadness and there is something telling me that I don’t
want other people feel what I felt. For instance, if someone needed my help I would help them,
with all my ability and efforts. Just to see the smiles and gratitude from them. Just seeing those
sights gave me purpose.
All of us are called by God to do something to complete mission and we should accept this said
mission. We need to remember that god created human beings, so that they could multiply and
have dominion in all living beings. We are created to live and act socially. God has chosen us to
be Hid people, we would not be here in the first place if not for Him. So in all fairness, it is right
that we follow and serve Him.

- gap 0 - there are times that the cell will leave the cell cycle and stop dividing. It may be a
temporary phase or permanent. For instance neurons, when it has reached its end stage of
development and will no longer divide.
- gap1- the nucleus increases in mass and the cell carries or its processes and develops while
preparing for division. Ensures that the nutrients are intact for cell division.
- s phase- DNA replication
- gap 2- the cell will continue to grow and produce new proteins. All the organelles and
nutrients needed are assembled by the chromosomes.

4. Cancer cwlls occur when there is an abnormal cell growth due to failures in some parts of the
cell cycle. For instance a normal cell would undergo mitosis and results to 2 diploid daughter
cells, however in a cancer cell, the undergo the sam processes the normal cell does but it
continues to divide. These abnormal cell groeth is what creates cancer cells.
5. In my understanding, cell dividion is important because one million cells die in an organism die
every second. And because of cell division, it can nullify the number of dead cells.
6. The main differences between a normal cell and a cancer cell are that normal cells are
continually being produced in the mitotic process. They have a determined life span wherein the
cells die at a certain point-called apoptosis. While cancer cells develop when apoptosis is
defective. Without the said process it will increase uncontrollably, thereby producing masses or
tumors.
7. If cells were to cease to exist, I think the body will malfunction, the organs would fail one by one
because without cells there would be no production of new ones since millions of cells die a
second.in short the body will simply degenerate. If cells ceased to exist life would be impossible.
There would be no trees, no animals, no more living beings.

14. The main reason why cells don’t grow larger as organisms grow larger because if a cell grows too
large, it will have difficulty in transportation of nutrients and wastes across the cell and second,
if a cell becomes larger the more demands the cell places on its DNA. cell divide for may
reasons, for instance if you have a wound, cells divide to replace the damaged or dead cells.
Cells divide through the process called mitosis. It is a natural process in an organism which
allows it to produce cells of the same kind for growth and reproduction.

1. 2 boats are rowing on the river. The first boat rows where the current of the river is flowing and
the other rows the opposite direction of the current. The first boat shows passive transport
because it does not need to exert energy for it to be able to move, whereas the second boat
shows active transport because it needs to row vigorously for it to move up the stream, thus
exerting energy.
2. An example of exocytosis is taking out the trash. Because the garbage bag acts like a vesicle
which transports wastes outside the house.
3. Buying groceries is an example of endocytosis. The house represents the cell and the groceries
represents the molecule going in the cell. Requires energy to transport the groceries in the
house
4. Sponge soaking up water is an example of osmosis. Because the high concentration of water will
tend to go inside the sponge. And does not require energy.
1. Biomolecules are any of numerous substances that are produced by cells organisms. It has a
wide range of sizes and structures and perform vast array of functions.
2. has four major types, which are carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acid.
3. The difference between hydrolysis and dehydration synthesis is that hydrolysis breaks the
covalent bond holding the two components of a polymer by consuming water molecule, thus
separating the polymer and converts is into a monomer. While dehydration synthesis joins the
(O) and (OH) of each monomer thus removing water and joining the two monomer and creating
a polymer.
4. The meaning of the statement “you are what you eat” is, in a sense, true. A person is actually
compromised of what it eats. When a person consume different variety of food, there are also
different biomolecules enter the body. And these specific molecules have different effects on
our body, thus the statement “you are what you eat” is actually factual.
5. And example that would greatly relate to both hydrolysis and dehydration is drawbridge. The
two separate pieces of land acts as an individual monomer. When the drawbridge withdraws the
bridge apart it represents hydrolysis because it separates the two pieces of land, relatively
separates the covalent bond between each monomer. When the bridge connects is separated
parts is makes a connection between the two pieces of land, this represents dehydration
synthesis. Relatively, it relates to the water being taken away from each monomer thus resulting
into a polymer.

10. hydrolysis
1. Carbohydrates are the sugars, starches and fibers found in fruits, grains, vegetables and milk
products. Though often maligned in trendy diets, carbohydrates — one of the basic food groups
— are important to a healthy diet.
2. Polysaccharides are converted to monosaccharides by the process hydrolysis, which water
breaks the covalent bonds between the molecules thus resulting to monosaccharides. and
monosaccharides are converted to polysaccharides by the process caleed dehydration, which
joins the two separate monosaccharides ths forming polysccarides.
3. Glucose- In humans, glucose is one of the most important nutrients for fuelling the body. It's
especially important for the brain and nervous system, which aren't very good at using other
fuel sources. Muscles, on the other hand, can use fat as an energy source.
Fructose- Fructose is special because it is the sweetest carbohydrate. Plants make a lot of
fructose as a way of attracting insects and animals, which help plants to reproduce. For example,
plants make nectar, which is high in fructose and very sweet, to attract insects that will pollinate
it.
Galactose- : is found in milk (and dairy products made from milk), but it's almost always linked
to glucose to form a disaccharide (more on that in a minute). We rarely find it in our food supply
in monosaccharide form.
4. Starch- Starch is made up of long chains of glucose. If these chains are straight, they're called
amylose; if they're branched, they're called amylopectin. Humans have digestive enzymes to
break down both types of starch. Starchy foods include bread, pasta,
Glycogen- The storage form of carbohydrate in animals. Liver glycogen is broken down to
glucose, which is released into the bloodstream and can be used by cells around the body.
Muscle glycogen provides energy only for muscle, to fuel activity.
Fibre- Fiber includes carbohydrates and other structural substances in plants that are
indigestible to human enzymes. Fiber is made by plants to provide protection and structural
support.
a. Carbohydrates are foods that get converted into glucose, or sugar, in our bodies during
digestion. Glucose is a main source of fuel for our body. It is especially important for the
brain, which cannot easily use other fuel sources (such as fat or protein) for energy. It is
important because carbohydrates carry fuel to make our daily activities possible and
without these carbohydrates people would not have enogh energy to do the simplest of
tasks.

10. Monosaccharides and disaccharides have something in common, monosaccharides are glucose,
fructose and galactose, to form a disaccharide, these monosaccharides pair up with glucose. All
in all It makes that glucose to get energy in a form it can use for its own growth and later
reproduction. It makes one glucose and any of the three monosaccharide to make a
disaccharide.
If I had a classmate who want to stay fit I would encourage him/her because having a fit body is
important in one’s health and no, I would not emphasize the development of muscle. Instead I would
recommend eating a proper diet and exercise daily. Good nutrition is an important part of leading a
healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity, your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy
weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall
health.

Event 2 is the beginning because this event was where the main character was introduced and he was
diagnosed with lung cancer and only has 7 weeks to live
Event 1 is the middle because this is where the plot escalated when his children knew about his
condition and gave him time and attention.
Event 3 is the ending because this is where the conflict was resolved and they discovered that he was
not terminally ill.
The widowed father of the bonofacio family, manuel, was diagnosed with lung cancer and was told that
he had only 7 weeks to live. Because of his illness, he made one dying wish: to be connected to his
children again
When his children learned about the news that their father was diagnosed with lung cancer. To grant
their fathers wish, they decided to pay their fathe a visit and stay on a single roof. Nevertheless, it did
not went the way they planned it. Due to some unresolved conflicts in the past, and the strained
insecurities and pride among them, the manuel’s children fought.
After manuel’s birthday with Jun, he received a call from his doctor telling him that he was not
terminally ill.
On a faithful day, ranier’s parents so loved each other they decided to make him. They did so by
nourishing the seed of rainier’s mother. Nine months they nurtured the seed until it was ready to be
transferred to a different pot. And after those nine months there they saw, their months of labor
resulted to a skinny little black boy and which they named joseph rainier . – april 2004
five years of preparation, until they decided to introduce young rainier to the world and enrolled him to
an educational institution. 2009
6 years of young rainier’s life he spent learning, laughing, and playing at the institution. Until, it was time
of his graduation where he will be leaving all his friends and teachers and move on to the next stage of
his journey-junior high. – 2016
He was excited, anxious, and was thirsty for adventure because he was enrolled to the one of the
biggest academies of his land. Little did he know that the journey he was about to embark was one of
the most stressful, challenging and maybe the most memorable one. 2016
Just like on the first institution where he was enrolled this institution also has stages where he has to
complete to move forward to the next one.
There he was on the first stage of junior high, sitting awkwardly in a corner, scared of socializing for he
knew no one. But everyday going to school he made a strong foundation with his relationships with his
comrades. – 2016
The next year he moved forward in the next stage where he met an interesting girl named
tin(nickname). She was artistic, calm, modest, naïve, and has a pure heart. One day rainier was
appointed to enter a competition where he would perform the colored arts, he was unsure and skeptic
about entering. But the girl motivated him and supported him throughout the competition where he got
second place. He expected that their communication would be cut off because the competition was
finished, but that was not the case. Due to rainier’s natural acts of kindness the young lady fell in love
with rainier. Young tin confessed and rainier was shocked and didn’t know what to do, but then he
decided to go with the flow for the purpose of not wanting to hurt the girls feelings. But in the end they
eventually broke up because rainier was not yet ready for a relationship. But after that she met another
girl who was happy, and sometimes annoying energetic and an extreme extrovert which was an
opposite of his personality. 2017
A year passed and rainier moved on to another stage on his journey – stage 9. At this stage rainier was
transformed. He was no longer the rainier that we knew that was shy, introvert, and would prefer
drawing in the corner. With the help of his new friend he grew to a better and improved version of
himself, and that was all thanks to her. Now, this stage was very stressful because all of the academic
and extra-curricular activities were mixed up everyone was so busy, he and his classmates would stay at
the institution until night time just to finish their projects. but that stage wasn’t all work, there was fun,
he made a lot of friends, grew with them and made alliances. But I would emphasize this stage to the
newly discovered friendship of rainier and dan(nickname). These two were inseparable, as I’ve said they
were complete opposites yet they are seemingly compatible with each other. Just like the gears in clock
they mesh up perfectly, well almost perfect (I’ll explain that later on). This is the stage where their young
love developed. 2019
Rainier finally did it, he reached the final stage. This stage, this is where rainier finally found himself an
discovered new things. This stage was quite interesting because they were appointed to manage two
camps. Where rainier was the head of supplies for both camps. Amazingly he pushed through and
succeeded. And another where they went to batangas, the land of the gifted. Where they competed on
a cheer dancing competition which they unexpectedly won. But the highlight on rainier’s travel to
batangas was their adventure with his friends and especially dan. They went on different adventures
with his comrade, they rode a spaceship that made them see the heavens, they rode a giant wheel that
made them see the entire kingdom, rainier was having the time of his life. Gleeful as they was but it was
time to leave batangas and went back to their kingdom. They thought their hardships were through but
they were again tasked to make another cheerdance which will be held on their institute’s premises.
Moths before the competition they practiced every day and night. But a month before the competition,
they discovered a betrayal by their own comrade, though their wardrobe might be damaged they were
able to push through with the competition but sadly, they were not able to win. But however they were
voted the people’s champion which was enough for them. After all of their tasks, academic stuffs are
done, dan invited rainier to an adventure, an adventure like no other, an adventure neither of them
were prepared. And so they went to a restaurant and ate happily. As they went further on their
adventure so does their bond, a bound that they thought at that time was unbreakable. Little did they
know that adventure they set about, that that was the last time that they would see each other because
unexpectedly there was a virus outbreak set across the land and was not allowed to go out from their
household. Disappointed as they are their journey on junior high was finished. An unexpected ending
indeed, the students did not even have an opportunity for a last hug, last laugh, last meal together, they
were robbed from their ending. 2020
Then rainier and so was everyone else had an early summer but though rainier and dan did not expect
this to happen. But their journey together was finished, their adventures came to an end. It was like
they went on a rough road and stumbled upon an intersection where neither of them can be together
on the same path. They sent their farewells and goodbyes and went on their separate paths. Though the
path they were about to go was a total mystery they faced it head on and hoped for the best. 2020
After everything that happened, rainier learned different things from the institution, from their
adventures, from their everyday struggles, and he still thrives to learn more as he embark on another
journey to senior high. 2020

Happiness
- Games
- Friends
- Adventures
- Death
- Contentment
- Peace of mind
Often I think what the meaning of happiness is really, but I couldn’t get any concrete answer. In
our philosophy class, we discussed of what really is happiness. Aristotle stated that “man’s end is to be
happy”, by that I think that when it has come to your last moments, you will think all of your
experiences, hardships and everything you went through and seeing how far you have come is
happiness.
But for me, I also have a definition of happiness. For me happiness is having fun with friends and
family. The laughs, the cries, everything you experience with people. One’s bond with everyone is
happiness. However, that kind of happiness is social, I also feel happy when I have peace of mind,
similarly, when I am alone I am happy because I can hear myself think and I am in my self-solitude. Even
so, some believes that contentment is true happiness.
Whatever maybe your reason, it important to be happy. You should not dwell too much on your
mistakes and problems. For me, what I think is true happiness is achieving spiritual satisfaction, that is,
accepting and serving God, our savior, because through Him you will have eternal happiness.
One of my favorite books is entitled “Me Before You”and was written by Jojo Moyes.in addition, It has
a movie adaptation that was directed by Thea Sharrock. The movie adaptation and the written book
show similarities and differences. Moreover, The plot of the book and the movie are completely the
same. The catch in some parts of the book are not in the movie. The movie adaptation catches the gist
of the book’s story. Regarding emotions, both the book and movie justify the tragic ending of the story.
however, I was more moved to the movie adaptation. I can clearly see the scene with a good
background, the emotion of the character portrayed by the actors, and I can clearly hear the dialogues.
Although, both are enjoying but I was more satisfied with the book because It’s very detailed. The movie
can offer you the whole package without the sense of curiosity. If I were to choose between its
published book and movie adaptation, I would choose the book Books can be a wild curious journey of
the reader or traveler.

2. Using improper language which the reader could have difficulty in understanding may affect
their comprehension towards the message. By sing language that Is familiar to the reader, the
message is likely to have a great impact to them.
3. Language is just as important as organization, coherence, and cohesion in developing a well
written text because what would be the purpose in perfecting these three aspects if the reader
cannot fully understand what the message really conveys.
Arnold- informal
Arnulfo – formal
Whats more
Language use should be considered when writing a text because if not, there would be
misunderstanding between the writer and reader.
As a writer, I will keep in mind these concepts and will apply these newly acquired knowledge in writing
my essays.
Pagadian city
I am writing to appeal towards the current human activities in our local forests.
I wanted to take this opportunity to address my concern about the current human activities in our local
forests. I am afraid that if this will continue it may soon affect the endangered wildlife in the said forest.
And I believe that it is a violation of Republic Act 9147 otherwise known as wildlife resources
conservation and protection act,
I humbly ask for our local government to foresee this matter and hoping for immediate action.
Sincerely,

Pets are part of our everyday lives and part of our families. They provide us with companionship but also
with emotional support, reduce our stress levels, sense of loneliness and help us to increase our social
activities and add to a child's self-esteem and positive emotional development.
Nowadays keeping pets is gaining Increasing popularity. The relationship between human and animals
are always changing. To begin with, pets can keep a good company to people so as to bring pleasure and
drive loneliness. After a period of staying together people view their the lovely pets as an old friend and
even as family members. However, some are wary of keeping pets because according to them, they are
a hassle and such a big responsibility. From cleaning p their stools, medicines, and the damages they
cause in your household. Indeed that is a good point, but now they are many centers and clinics where
they offer cheap service for your pet’s needs, moreover it has shown in many platforms that pets are
actually trainable. You can teach them to shake hands, roll over, and many more wonderful tricks.
For instance, I have a friend that has gone through many problems and challenges, however he was still
optimistic about his life. Especially after he had his pet dog. We could observe that he was getting better
and somehow a different person. But he did not stop there, he trained his dog to do all sorts of tricks.
And now he owns a dozen of pets and we never saw him this happy before.
Through that example we can already conclude the effect of having a pet to your life. However, the most
important trait one should have when acquiring a pet is a sense of responsibility. Responsibility of one’s
pet from taking care of them from cleaning up after them and most importantly injecting their pets with
vaccines. This is what it means to be a responsible pet owner and being responsible with pets will
ultimately result to a happier life.
My insigghts about the quote is that grammar punctuation and spelling, these three aspects are
important in organizing and conveying what you want to write about. One’s mixed ideas are to come
together in a perfect organization with the help of the aspects said above.

II. Body
III. Conclusion
Drafts (1).
1. The body is not separate from the soul and the soul is not separate from the body
2. One cannot talk of a human person without the concept of body and soul
1.
By definition, human person as an embodied spirit or the embodiment of spirit specifically refers to the
union of body and soul. Man is a composite of body (its material aspects) and soul (the spiritual aspect).
Both body and soul are integral parts of a human person, it is what makes a human a human. A human
person is the point of convergence between the body and the soul. Thus, one cannot talk of a human
person without the union of body and soul. Man cannot exist without the soul and same as a soul
without its body.
It is important to know these concepts for us to know our potentialities and limitations and most
importantly, it exposes us to a thorough understanding of ourselves as a human being as unique
creature united by a body and soul.
2. in what way do the philosophies of Aristotle coincide with that of Thomas? And how do they
differ?
In regards with the philosophies of Aristotle on the context of a human person as an embodies spirit,
both of these philosophers did not differ from one another. Accordingly, st. Thomas Aquinas followed
aristotle’s philosophy where; the body is the material aspect and the soul is the spiritual aspect. He also
believed that huma beings differ from other creatures. Man is rational animal with an intellectual nature
and freedom of judgement and choice.
However, their philosophy on “happiness” has some notable similarities and differences. For Aristotle’s
“the attainment of happiness as an end of man”, he claims that there is one supreme end or a final good
for man, which is to be happy. Based on my understanding, a thing is best understood by looking at its
end purpose or goal. For instance, the purpose of a knife is to cut, and seeing its purpose or goal one can
understand what a knife is. It is the same as what Aristotle is trying to convey that the end or final good
for man is happiness. Every activity man will do, man will desire to be happy. Man does not act unless he
thinks that the object of his action does not lead to its happiness, and it will never view further than its
own happiness. For instance, the concepts of honor, pleasure, intellect, in fact every concept of
excellence we choose for their own sake, indeed truthful, but we choose them also with a view of
happiness. While st. thomas’ philosophy on “the human person as a seeker of happiness” is, In his
beliefs in the attainment of happiness he stated that happiness is the last end of rational nature. And
happiness conceits the absolute good. It is something belonging to the soul but that which constitutes
happiness outside the soul. But happiness cannot only be found in material objects but in attainment of
spiritual satisfaction. Spiritual happiness is the perfect good, but since, God is the absolute good,
therefore God can make man become absolutely happy.
3. After learning the human person as an embodied spirit, my personal realizations are that the
body us composed or made up of two aspects. The body which is defined as the matter the
vessel in which the soul is situated, and soul, the spiritual aspect, the form of a human person.
The soul is inseparable to the body and vice versa. Furthermore, a human person is the point of
convergence of soul and body, it is where both matter and form is in unity.
After learning about the concept of embodied spirit, it gave me understanding on what is a
human being, the purity and its nature. I have concluded that a human being is indeed a unique
creature.
4. For me, the most appropriate philosophical approach to have a better understanding on the
relationship between human person and the environment is the transpersonal ecology.
Transpersonal ecolgy was developed by fox warwick, and it was derived from the idea of deep
ecology, which he borrowed the main idea of deep ecology that humans and the environment
are partners or co-equals in the preservation of life and attempted to develop its concept
further. Deep ecology being already a great philosophical approach, fox continued to develop it.
Whereby he added in transpersonal ecology the psychological approaches in analyzing the
relationship between humans and environment. By understanding the psychological attitude of
man towards the environment, one can identify its role and goal and whether its attitude is
optimal for the environment. in that way one can anchor its decision and actions are in
accordance to moral and norms and to natural laws.
