Create your Own Game Assignment

The goal of this assignment is to use your creativity to come up with a game or activity that you
can set up, explain to your classmates and play during PE class.

I want you to be creative, so there are only a few guidelines you need to follow:
 Game should involve as much of the class as possible at one time.
 Game needs to be inclusive. (People of different abilities should be able to participate)
 Game should be original. (You can use elements of other games, so long as you put your
own twist on it.)
 Game needs to be safe and fun! (Need to consider safety guidelines, etc.)

Your game MUST include one of the following components of fitness:

 Aerobic Fitness (Cardio)
 Muscular Strength/endurance
 Flexibility

You and your teammates (4 in a group) will need to have the following:
1) A game outlines
2) A list of supplies (should be items we have at school or that you can provide)
3) A list game rules

Consider the following when planning your game outline:

o Pick out component of fitness they need to include in their game.
o What types of games could we create?
o What supplies/equipment could we need?
o Team game or individual game?
o How can we make this game inclusive?
o Requirements for winning.
o What is our playing area?

Have fun planning!

Here is how you will be assessed throughout the timeline of the project:
 Every day your group will hand in your game outline plan. I will read them over and
write down some feedback for your group that you can use to alter and modify your
game/plan.
 You will be marked on your participation every class. You will receive a mark out of 5
every class. You will be observed on:
o Attitude
o Come to class on time
o Fair play
o Effort
o Group participation
 You will hand in your game outline before presentations begin and you will be marked
on your plan.
 You will be marked on your presentation of your game.
Each group member will need to present at least one part of their game/activity and every
member will share the same grade.
