Lesson 7: Exercise
Write at least 2 examples of your experiences of each of the three levels of Moral Development.
Describe your experience and justify it on why you put in that level.

Level 1- Preconventional Morality

1. One of my experience of preconventional morality is when I steal five pesos of my mom
when I am in grade 3. When they knew that I am the one who steal the money my brother
told me to go back home to gave back the money my mother. The punishment I’ve got is
they bit me three times and they never allowed me to go to school for one day.
2. Second of my experience of preconventional morality is when my mother told me that if I
study hard and have an honor in the school, they will buy me a new clothes and shoes.
When they said to me those condition, I started to study harder then that is the time I am
the fourth honor in the class. Then I have got the reward to my mother after the school
years end.
 I put this experience of mine in this level because it described the stages of being
obedient and being punished and also receiving a reward after all.
Level 2-Conventional Morality
1. This level I’ve experience when I am a kid when we go to our other relatives my father
always to me to have respect on them by going to bless to my uncle and my aunt and also
my grandparents then they always say to us that we are very good children.
2. This stage I already know on how to be aware on the rules of the society and luckily, I’ve
never experience violating the until now
 I put on this level of my own experience because in those things I do I already engaging
myself in the society being good in interacting to others and also this stage I begun to
understand the moral standards of valued adult role model.
Level 3- Postconventional Morality
1. In this level I’ve once violated the law of my father when I chose to have a relationship.
This is because in this stage is already a part of my adolescence that we can’t deny that
we are attracted to someone. Then when my father caught me they got angry unto me
because I’ve violated his rules that I will never have a relationship while I am still
studying.
2. One also of my experience is when I believed in myself that lying to a person is good.
Because my views in those time I’m just protecting myself that is why I don’t say the
truth on them. But then I realized that what I am doing is not right.
 In this level I put my experience here because this stage we already starting to build our
own principle that we never noticed that we are already violating the law.

Lesson 8: Exercise
Answer the following questions:
1. In one of your most unforgettable moral dilemmas, highlight your responses in that
situation to be either based on reason or feelings. Why do you say so that it is based on
reason or feeling?
 In one of the most unforgettable moral dilemmas in me is when I found out that my best
friend’s girlfriend is cheating on him. That time I am doubting if I am going to tell him or
not. And because I don’t want my best friend to got hurt to what I am telling to him. I
decided not to tell him in order for me to know the truth if what I found out to his
girlfriend is only my mistake but then my thoughts are right. And that time I told to my
best friend on what I found out to his girlfriend but then he scolded me because he
doesn’t believe me. So, what I did is to avoid him to let out his anger.
In this situation I base on my feelings because I have a concerned to him. He is my
best friend on what I did is he way for me to show that I love him also.
2. How does reason and feeling affected your way of decision making in life?
 The reason and feeling can affect my way of decision making in life by helping us to
clarify and to help us to think a better way in decision-making. It is for us to give a
chance for the others in choosing what is the right decision to live in a better life.
