Road safety audit of Black spot audit

This report presents the road safety audit findings of two black spots and respective
suggesting rectification measures of black spots identified by the Ministry of Road Transport
& Highways (MoRTH) on National Highways NH-30 in the state of Bihar. Regional office –
NHAI directed to carryout road safety audit of black spot at Y junction 193.15 – 193.6 and
Massouri Mode km 188.46 to 189.00 as identified by State Government of Bihar as
mentioned below.
The entire road section passes through Plain terrain. The location of the project road is as
below:

1. AUDIT OBSERVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

1.1. Black spot 1: Massouri More to RPS School round about on NH-30 (Ch. 188.46 to 189.00)

This black spot location is situated between Ch. 188.46 to Ch. 189.00 of NH-30. And having a built-up area between. It is observed that stretch
has both side ribbon development of commercial and habitation. The location situated at flyover approach end having congestion and chaos.
The stretch has mixed traffic condition due to habitation area.

1.2. Black spot 2: New bypass Karmali chak 70 feet to west on NH-30 (Ch. 193.15 to 193.6)

This black spot location is situated between Ch. 193.15 to Ch. 193.6 of NH-30. At km 194+855 which is bypass end point Y Junction towards
DeedarGanj. It is observed that multi axle vehicles are in substantial number passing through the stretch and conflicts with the MCW
carriageway traffic. No speed calming measures could be seen on the road. Improper merging of side road with the main road.

be cleared.
• It is to be ensured that street lights are in working condition.
