Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
If you run into any problems using your camcorder, use the following table to troubleshoot the
problem. If the problem persists, remove the power source and contact your Sony dealer.
• For connecting your camcorder to your computer, see “Computer Application Guide”.
76
Your camcorder gets warm.
• This is because the power has been turned on for a long time. This is not a malfunction. Turn
off your camcorder and leave it for a while in a cool place.
Batteries/Power sources
The power does not turn on.
• The battery pack is not attached to the camcorder. Attach a charged battery pack to the camcorder
(p.14).
• The battery pack is discharged or running low. Charge the battery pack (p.14).
• The plug of the AC Adaptor has been removed from the wall socket. Connect it to the wall
socket (p.14).
The CHG (charge) lamp does not light while the battery pack is being charged.
• Slide the POWER switch to OFF (CHG) (p.14).
• Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly (p.14).
• Connect the mains lead to the wall socket properly.
• The battery charge is completed (p.14).
Troubleshooting
The CHG (charge) lamp flashes while the battery pack is being charged.
• Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly (p.14). If the problem persists, remove the
AC Adaptor from the wall socket and contact your Sony dealer. The battery pack may be
damaged.
The power turns off frequently although the remaining battery indicator indicates
that the battery pack has enough power to operate.
• A problem has occurred in the remaining battery time indicator, or the battery pack has not
been charged enough. Fully charge the battery again to correct the indication (p.14).
The remaining battery time indicator does not indicate the correct time.
• The temperature of the environment is too high or too low. This is not a malfunction.
• The battery pack has not been charged enough. Fully charge the battery again. If the problem
