Many people think, "If I had more money, I'd be happy!" But is this true? Dan Gilbert, a professor
from Harvard University, has been researching this issue, and his conclusions are fascinating. Gilbert
found that if a person's basic needs are met, the happiness he or she gets from having more money is
really very small.
Gilbert's first reason is based on a personality trait that we all share: an ability to change in
different environments. For example, if a person moved to a hot country, he or she would feel very hot
at first, but in time, the heat would feel normal. In the same way, when a person has more money, he
or she can buy exciting new things and is happy. In time, the person sees these things as normal, not
exciting, but the memory of excitement remains. The person tries to buy new things to create that
feeling again.
Suddenly, having more money also causes stress. After the person buys an expensive car, new
clothes, or big home, he or she worries about keeping it. There are always more things to worry about.
For most people who didn't always have money, there is a fear of losing it or being unable to maintain
expensive things. These people aren't able to enjoy the things if they are focused on the worry or the
loss. Many people also feel that others want what they have, and this causes more stress.
So, the next time someone says, "I'd be happier if I had more money," you will know the truth!

47 – 50: Write two paragraphs about what one thing you would change about your school if you could. Answer the
following questions:
The one thing that I change if I could is the teaching method. Because is one of the most important fact in school, I
would change it because the method that I actually taking is boring and simple, it doesn’t make me feel intrigued or
excited about what am I going to see even if is something interesting. This change would make the school recognized by
being ludic in the way that they give knowledge to the students, and make them feel with certainty that they are
learning well, because they feel comfortable and intrigued about what they are going to learn.
In my point of view teachers and students would like this idea because included benefits to all, starting from more
freedom in the way that they teach the class through students’ opinion about the topic, also apply the method that the
teacher confidence will make that the knowledge is being understood well. Change some repetitive exercises to
