ACTIVITY 2.

Revisit the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) found in the LDM2 Course
Overview. Reflect on your self-assessment from Activity

1. What particular professional standards in the PPST do you need to focus on to effectively use
the LDMs in relation to the content and pedagogy of the learning area/s you are teaching? Write
your answer and other insights in your Study Notebook.

To guide your answers, you can also refer to DepEd Memo No. 50, s.2020 on DepEd
Professional Development Priorities and the Continuing Professional Development Guidelines.

Based on my reflection, below are particular professional standards in the PPST that I need to
focus on to effectively use the LDMs in relation to learning area I teach:
DOMAIN 1: CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND PEDAGOGY
 Strand 3: Positive use of ICT
(I need to promote effective strategies in the positive use of ICT to facilitate the teaching and
learning process).

DOMAIN 4: CURRICULUM AND PLANNING

 Strand 5: Teaching and learning resources including ICT
(I need to select, develop, organize and use appropriate teaching and learning resources,
including ICT, to address learning goals).

DOMAIN 5: ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING

 Strand 2: Monitoring and evaluation of learner progress and achievement
(Interpret collaboratively monitoring and evaluation strategies of attainment data to support
learner progress and achievement).
 Strand 3: Feedback to improve learning
(Use effective strategies for providing timely, accurate and constructive feedback to
encourage learners to reflect on and improve their own learning).

DOMAIN 6: COMMUNITY LINKAGES AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT

 Strand 2: Engagement of parents and the wider school community in the educative
process
(Building relationships with parents/guardians with the wider school community to facilitate
involvement in the educative process. Increase my strategies on engaging parents and
wider school community in the educative process to build partnership with parents and
develop mutual responsibility for children’s’ success in the educational system.

ACTIVITY 3.

Answer the following questions by constructing and filling out the table in your Study Notebook.
How do you envision your teaching practice in the next few months as you use the LDM
adopted by your School? What is your goal in terms of your teaching practices in the
modalities? What motivates you to achieve this goal? What do you think will help you attain this
goal?

1. In your LAC Session, share your answers to Lesson 1 Activity 3 and Lesson 2 Activities
1 and 2. Take note of all insights and advice from your colleagues. Make adjustments in
your plan accordingly.

2. Submit your accomplished IDP and LAC Plan to your LAC Leader and your School
Head/Department Head. Make sure that you keep a copy of your Plans.

My Reflection:

For me, Module 4: Planning for Continuing Professional Development and Lac Planning
is the most important part of the LDM2 for teachers. As they say, “failure to prepare, is preparing
to fail”. Without planning and good foresight based on logical and rational parameters, things will
not work well. Planning is an integral part of growing up. We need to plan if we want to grow
specially in our Professional Development as teachers. Learning is a continuous process.
There are still a lot of things that we can improve to be more effective teachers even during
these challenging times. We are simply stronger if we stand together. Let us share what you
know and be open to corrections. Learn to think not only for yourself but for others too. Continue
to grow with your Professional Development and everything will follow.

Having technical support, assistance and strong community relationship are the primary
factors in order to achieve our goals and objectives not only as 21st century teachers but also as
teachers in the so called “new normal”.
