Filipinos celebrate fiestas or festivals with such fervor and in many different ways. They
dresses up in colorful and gay costumes, paint their faces and even their whole body, or
create beautiful dresses out of indigenous materials. Others dress up their houses with their
main produce such as rice, fruits, copra and coconut leaves, shells, or husks. Filipino food
like puto’t dinuguan, pansit, lechon, bibingka, kare-kare, and bulalo to mention a few, are
also served to visitors. Unique games like patintero, palo sebo, sisirang barya, basagang
palayok and hulihan ng biik are also observed. But the most awaited part of these
celebrations is the street dancing. People from neighboring cities and even foreigners
spend money just to witness this highlight of the festival. Lively dancing portraying the rich
dances of the town is put to life by the beat of drums and heart thumping music. Street
dancing is joined by different groups such as youth oriented group, religious organizations,
women’s group, and other private professional organizations.
