1.What is motivation?
Motivation is the process of inspiring, directing, and sustaining goal-oriented
habits is known as motivation. Employees are inspired by a positive feeling that
inspires and excites them to give their best. Setting and meeting goals, having
specific priorities, getting recognition and input, and positive management all help
improve organizational morale.
2.How will you differentiate the theories under content and process
approaches of motivation?
The content approaches concentrate on the factors that rejuvenate, lead, maintain,
and stop the behavior. This approach seeks to recognize the basic needs that
motivate or empower people and how they affect management practices. Maslow's
Hierarchy of Needs, Alderfer's ERG Theory, Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory, and
McClelland's Learned Needs Theory. Process methods, on the other hand, are
concerned about "how" motivation emerges. They explain and examine how the
action is energized, directed, maintained, and terminated. To put it another way, it
defines how an employee's action is started, diverted, and stopped. Setting targets
to guide action is an integral part of a motivational technique, according to process

3.What are the various job design practices that motivate employees?

Job Enlargement- refers to expanding the tasks performed by employees to
add more variety.
Job Enrichment- is a job redesign technique that allows more control over
how they perform their tasks.
4.How can manager empower their employees?
-Change the company structure so that employees have more power in their jobs.
-Provide employees with access to information about things that affect their work.

take over instead, believe in the power of employees to make the most accurate

5.What are the various forms of flexible working arrangements?
Flextime is a system wherein employees choose their starting and quitting times
from a range of available hours.
-Compressed Work Week- Under this arrangement, the standard workweek is
compressed into fewer than five days.
-Flexplace- This term encompasses various arrangements in which employee
works from home or some other non-office location.
-Job Sharing- two people voluntarily share the duties and responsibilities of one
full-time position, with both the salary and benefits of that position prorated
between the two individuals. -Work Sharing- These programs are increasingly used
by companies that wish to avoid layoffs.
-Expanded Laws- This option gives employees greater flexibility in terms of
requesting extended periods away from work losing their rights as employees.
-Phased Retirement- the employee and employer agree to a schedule wherein the
employee's full-time work commitments are gradually reduced over months or
years.
-Partial Retirement- These programs allow more senior employees to continue
working on a part-time basis, with no established end date.
-Work and Family Programs- These programs are still relatively rare, although
some larger companies have reported good results with pilot initiatives in this area.
