First angle projection
Scale: 1:1
1. Draw Metric and Acme thread profiles using AutoCAD software. State the angle of the
thread in each case and dimension the depth, assuming a pitch of 15 mm. (20 mark)
2. Show by means of sketches, conventional methods of showing the following screw threads:
a) Metric thread, nominal diameter 12 mm.
b) Square thread, nominal 25 mm and pitch 3 mm
c) Right-hand square thread, nominal diameter 10 mm and pitch 2 mm. (15 mark)
3. Draw hexagonal nut of M16 using rough rule dimensions (3 views). (15 mark)
4. Draw following nuts, bolts, washer and screws, assume M14.
a) Cap nut (5 mark)
b) Ring nut (5 mark)
c) Plain washer (5 mark)
d) Hexagonal headed bolt (5 mark)
e) T head bolt (5 mark)
f) Stud (5 mark)
g) Set screws: Round, Countersunk, Grub screw (10 mark)
h) Lock nut(0.6D) (5 mark)
i) Castle nut (5 mark)
