We would like to thank Saso Kiselkov for librain library and his contribution. (https://github.com/skiselkov/librain)

We would like to thank all our testers and the avsim.su site for providing some of the sounds.

We also thank Pavel Pranov and Ahmed Akram Ahmadi for locating and compiling some of the sounds.
THE MODEL

This model has been created to resemble the real Boeing 757/767 in operations and aerodynamics. The model has
been equipped with several external plugins which simulate over 90% of the real systems. Basically, the only systems
which are not simulated in this model are the maintenance systems, which are never accessed during flight.

Some systems have been simplified or not fully simulated, for being too complex for a single virtual pilot to control
or for being non-essential. This model has been specifically designed to simulate the many possible failures that
might occur during a real flight. All these are documented in the official Boeing documents which you will find in the
DOCs folder.

The model has been equipped with an innovative sound system, including a PA message set accessible from the
menu, automatic checklists with “helper” mode, in-sim tutorials, a click system with many tunable options, terrain
and weather radars with realistic databases and many more.
DOCUMENTATION AND SUPPORT

The folder or DVD you have received contains a folder called DOCs. It contains manuals and instructions on
operations and procedures for the real Boeing 757/767 aircraft. We urge you to read all the provided documents
carefully prior to using the model. This will help you avoid unnecessary frustration and will most probably negate
any need for support usage. If you still run into trouble, feel free to contact us at

Support system: http://tickets.flightfactor.aero

Note, when you buy the “upgrades” you will receive no files. To use the upgrade you will need to use the updater
and your old key.
INSTALLATION

With the download/DVD you should have received a key number, which is to be used to register the model. You will
be asked for the key upon first usage of the model. The key is supported fo rX-Plane 11 (up to the current stable
version). The key will work three times for the same computer. If you require an extra key, please contact the
support.

When you have successfully activated your product you will be promoted to reload the aircraft. Use the Developer
menu on the top and choose the option Reload the Current Aircraft.

PC ONLY: Please make sure you have the following Microsoft C++ Redistributables installed.
• 2015 64 bit - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

To install the model, extract it into a folder of your choice. We suggest that the folder name contains no non-unicode
characters.

Upon first usage a window prompting you for your key will appear. Copy the key from your confirmation email and
paste/type it into the window. Press automatic activation.

Several liveries are offered for free with the model. Many more are available on the org store for 1$ a livery.
VR CONTROL

Generally there is nothing you need to do to set up VR control in this plane. Plugin your controllers, lunch the sim
and go to VR mode. You can now use your controllers’ triggers to manipulate buttons (reach and click or beam),
rotate knobs (reach and click on either side of the knob or bean to it), manipulate the yoke and livers by grabbing
them.

Some buttons may have a “special operation on them” (e.g. push in the volume controls on the radio panel, set the
altitude selector on the MCP to the nearest 1000 feet etc ). To use these, you need to set up one of the buttons on
your controller to Special Opt (Emulate mouse double click) found in the custom command window.

For a more advanced set up, which requires some “work” please read the provided manualVR.pdf. It contains
instructions on how to set up your controllers to provide maximum features (e.g. in cockpit tooltip, glue mode etc.)

A NOTE ON SETTINGS AND LIGHTING

Please note that ALL lighting in the model is HDR dependent. If your settings do not include HDR please expect some
lights not to work. (XP will only have 3 in-cockpit lights and one (the first one to be turned on) light outside the plane
in non-HDR mode).
QUICK START, TUTORIAL AND AUTO HELP
For quick start, go to the settings>operations &
warnings and uncheck the “start each flight in
cold and dark” checkbox. This will start your
plane with engines running and all systems
ready for takeoff.

In the plugins menu, under 757/767 menu, you

will find “checklist” item. The checklist itself if
explained below, but it has two features very
important for beginners.

The checklister is a perfect tool for beginners

and has several modes to help you learn the
plane and its operation.

Auto checklist
Most of the checklists have an auto button operations. Pressing it, will activate a “copilot” – an automatic helper
that will operate the switches for you in the correct order. All you need to do is check the CHECK items – items that
need visual control and can not be set automatically. To CHECK the check items – items the user needs to visually
check and verify, click on the checklist text itself. The same will override a non-check item.

Visual Tutorial Mode (VTM)

Basically even standard and procedural checklist can be turned into a tutorial-like process by selecting the VMT
checkbox in the checklister.

Please note: VTM mode is available only during daylight hours!

THE FLIGHT BAG - EFB
To open the EFB go to top XP menu, plugins tab and choose 757/767
Menu. Or click on the pad on the cockpit. The EFB includes several
tabs. Each has a number of options to be used for different options. It
acts as and Electronic Flight Bag and as a general plane menu. You
can pop out the EFB as well as turn it sideways using the round
buttons on the right.
General
In this tab you will find general options which are sets once for all the
planes in the package. You save the options by pressing SAVE OPTIONS
which will make the current set-up of general option default for all the
planes in the package. Each option has a tooltip explaining what the
option does. RESET DEFAULT will reset them to default
High challenge – sets the frequency of custom failures (from low to high)
Real limits – set the structural limits of the aircraft
Real time – set the time periods needed for some physical processes
f/o in control – the pilots default position is the right seat
Mouse wheel – alternates between 4 modes of mouse wheel usage (zoom, rotate, click-rotate, click-rotate-click)
Charts on – turns on the chart on yoke option (read below)
Hide yokes – hides the yokes
Yoke centering – changes the modes of automatic yoke centering or turns it off completely.
Autosave options – will automatically preserve all the selected options for next flight
Use saved config – for planes which have alternative configurations (several engine type, winglets..) using this option
will load the plane without offering you the choice of configuration to load. The saved configuration will be used

Additional Options discussed below

EFB
Ground - upper
In this part of the EFByou can set default ground services
configuration (saved as default for all planes by using the save option
on the general page), save and load presaved custom configurations,
call for the pushback truck and perform maintenance.

Maintenance is needed to reset the interflight data – oxygen and

hydralic fluid quantities, starter usage counters etc. To make it easier
the top overhead panel has a special flight counter which tells you
how many flights have passed from the last maintenance.

Ground – bottom
This is a weight and balance planner. The three fields on the left allow you to enter the weights of the planned load
and randomly distribute and shift passengers and cargo in the plane. The two sliders will shift the items in a random
fashion biased to the aft or forward of the plane. The resulting weights and CG will be displayed below. The OPTIMIZE
button will automatically attempt to optimize the CG by shifting the items. Note that it might not succeed. You can
also save and load a presaved weight and balance configuration.

LOAD/UNLOAD button will load an unloaded plane and unload (without touching fuel) a loaded plane.
RETOUCH LOAD will simply correct the difference in load and fuel between the planned figures and what is actually
loaded at the moment.

You can also use the standard XP menu for weight and balance, but we do not recommend that.
EFB
Airplane - upper
Here you can switch and tune the physical and graphical
characteristics of the model.
The wingflex slider will change the amount of wingflex the wings
have.
The reflections slider will change the reflectivity of the screens and
windows.
The effects slider will change the amount of reflection on the metal
parts.
Custom effects – enables the advanced effects on the general page
while disabling the simple controls here.
Dynamic blinds – turns on the window blinds movement.
Winglets – turns on the winglets.
Auto gear lever – makes the gear lever automatically jump to OFF when needed
Engine choice – enables the selected engine type (available when the plane is not loaded)

SAVE COCKPIT – will save the current configuration of the cockpit (some items may not be savable)
LOAD COCKPIT – will load the saved cockpit configuation

You can save the current configuration as default for the loaded model by using the SAVE CONFIG button.

Note: additional options (not seen on this picture) might be added later on.

Airplane – bottom
Here you can press on the buttons to operate the hatches on the aircraft.
MAIN MENU
Failures
Here you can see all the systems and subsystems that are
experiencing a failure at this time. The system can fail due to random
chance, due to your action in this flight, due to a prolonged incorrect
usage or for lack of maintenance (the last two only if the interflight
data option on the general page is turned on).

You can reset the current failures by pressing the RESET ALL button.
Note, resetting the failures might not reset the reason for the failures
(in case they are caused by your action or current situation) and the
failure might return immediately.
If you want to reset the failures and the reasons for them, land, go to the ground page and perform maintenance.
That will also reset the currently failed systems to their default status.

If all the systems are functioning within normal parameters a white “no faults of malfunctions detected ” will appear.
SCENARIOS
On this page you can create custom scenarios made of events such as
takeoff, landing, engine start and different failures. The events can be
split by random and/or deterministic time periods.

Press NEW to create a new scenario.

For each step of the scenario you need to

choose the time period definition.

Some definitions like immediately, in time,

In random time… are purely time based.
Others, like “in time after event” will be based on some event and then a time period. You can also define the time
period by crossing an altitude, gaining a certain speed or tie the time period to a failure.

Once chosen, the time period definition will present you with a chose of parameters. For example,
each step should be finished by pressing ok.

Then you can choose the failure to initiate. For example,

After you have the first failure, you can add time period definitions and other failures after and before each line, to
create a complicated scenario,
SCENARIOS cont
Now when you have your scenarios built, you can ENABLE them. You
can also stopped an enabled scenario by pressing DISABLE, delete an
unwanted scenario and edit scenarios.

When a scenario is running (is enabled) you can VIEW the scenario
progress

Note: editing an enabled scenario will disable it.

CHARTS

The charts can be turned on from the main menu. When they are, a
chart will appear on the control column of the pilot flying.

The charts displayed here are PNG files. Group different charts
together in a folder (such as all charts of one airport) and place this
folder in the 757(or 767)/charts folder. You may have multiple such
subfolders in charts folder. To load a chart from a specific subfolder
locate the file data.txt in charts folder and place there the name of
the chart subfolder you would like to load.

E.g. if you have a subfolder named EDDF in charts folder, which

contains pngs of charts, the first line of data.txt file should read
EDDF.

To help you create the needed pngs you may use an application
pdf2png (and pdf2pngHD) located in charts folder. The application
will convert a pdf file located in the charts folder into pngs and place
them in a subfolder with the same name.
CHECKLIST
The electronic checklist is your procedural and checklist helper.
The checklist provides you with lists of items to check and set in different
phases of the flight.

The NORMAL and OPERATIONAL menus are the same as in the operational
manual. Use them in the same way. When you set an item it will appear green
on the list. Some items need to be just checked and not set. For these just click
on the item. Check the item, ensure that the condition is met and click CHECK
to move to the next item. Items can also be overridden and will appear red.
When all items on a list are green the list will become completed. If an item is
overridden inside a list, the list will appear as overridden. You may reset lists in
the RESETS menu. When you complete a list the button NEXT can be used to
move to the next list in the same menu.

The PROCEDURES menu has additional functions . Here you will find procedural
lists under AMPLIFIED. You can use these lists as any other checklists with an
additional ability of AUTO button.
The auto regime will perform the procedure for you by pressing all the correct buttons and setting the dials. The
lists will proceed automatically till completed OR till a CHECK item appears. In auto regime the CHECK items will
become amber in color when active. This will require you to check the condition and CHECK as in the regular
regime.
NAVIGRAPH CHART SUPPORT
The IN-FLT dropdown has a CHARTS option. That opens a page where you can
get direct access to Navigraph charts. For that, you need to first go to options
and log-in.

After you have logged-in you can find the airport of your choice and load the
available charts.

Note: the search panel can be minimized by using the >> sign

You can use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out of the chart, and your
mouse to pan the chart.

NOTE: you need to be a subscriber of Navigraph Charts to use feature and you
need to use this password.
MOUSE USAGE
Different mouse-cockpit interaction options are available in the menu. 4 options are available:
• No mouse wheel – move the mouse to different parts of the rotary to rotate right or left. Use clicks to
rotate.
• Mouse wheel – move your mouse on to a rotary and rotate. Ones the mouse is off the rotary the
mouse wheel will switch back to zoom.
• Click + mouse wheel – you must click on a rotary to activate the mouse wheel manipulator, as soon as
the mouse cursor is off the rotary the mouse wheel will switch back to zoom.
• Click + mouse wheel + click – you must click on a rotary to activate the mouse wheel manipulator, you
may move the mouse (view) anywhere and the mouse wheel will still control the rotary. Click with
your left mouse button anywhere to release the rotary and the mouse wheel will back to the zoom
option.

Additional cockpit interaction options are available on the Cockpit Interaction Options page in the menu.

OXYGEN MASK
Oxygen loss is fully simulated in the model. In case the air pressure in the cockpit and cabin drop, you will
experience a “black out”. To continue the flight use the in-cockpit oxygen mask on the controlling side.
Click on the mask with the mouse to use the mask. To return the mask to its original position click on the
same spot again. Use the OH OXY switch to deploy the masks in the passenger cabin.
THROTTLE BLOCK
As the real Boeing aircraft has autothrottle which physically moves the levers and most users do not have
a motorized throttle quadrant we have added a synch algorithm to help users synchronize their hardware
with the in-cockpit levers when the autothrottle is disengaged; and to free the autothrottle to from
inadvertent hardware noise while the autothrottle is engaged.

At the moment the AT is disengaged the in-cockpit levers will stay at the location they were at the last
moment of AT operation even if you move your hardware throttles. To unlock the levers move your
throttles to the approximate position of the in-cockpit levers. When your hardware and the in-cockpit
levers meet they will be resynchronized.

This feature will help the user to keep the thrust constant and avoid the “jump” which occurs due to the
momentary resynchronization when the AT is disengaged.

You can turn on this option in the main menu.

SIM UNIQUE MESSAGES

The EICAS may sometimes display white messages which are unique to the simulator. E.g. “Throttles
Blocked” which will indicate that you real throttle is not synched with the in-sim throttle and thus you do
not currently control the thrust (this message is related to the option on the previous page).
BETTER PUSHBACK SUPPORT
On the SIM OPTIONS page of the EFB you are offered an option to
use “BetterPushback”. Setting this option will allow you to use the
BetterPushback plugin both from the plugins menu and from the
plane EFB GROUND page instead of the native pushback.
SHORTCUTS

To set a shortcut to your hardware or a key use the “keyboard” or “joystick” EFB page.
UPDATES
You can run the updater (X-Updater-Client.jar) located in your plane’s folder. Once operational, the
program will check for available updates and will offer you to update your plane. You will be required to
authenticate yourself with
• They key number provided with the plane
• The email you used when purchasing the plane

Note: only x-plane.org store purchases can be updated with the updater.

You can also download the updater from update.x-plane.org

GENERAL TIPS
The native pushback truck is not automatic and is controlled by your joystick(or pedals) and throttle.
When the truck is active your hardware automatically switches to control it and not the plane.
