In This Version
This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates for
most technologies that Analyzer supports, with changes falling under the following

Technology Improvements

5G-NR support
• This month’s release includes many improvements specific to 5G decodes and
support for Qualcomm-based UEs in InfoVista TEMS Investigation, Accuver XCAL
and Qualcomm QXDM. Users with the LTE-Advanced-Pro platform license
benefit only from the RRC signaling decode. Chipset and vendor-specific attribute
support for 5G NR requires the 5G-NR platform license:
o Support for InfoVista TEMS Investigation 21.0 (TRR 21.0.2) 5G devices
o Support for Accuver XCAL (DRM) 5G devices
o Support for Rohde & Schwarz ROMES4 5G devices
o Support for Qualcomm QXDM ISF X50-based chipset 5G devices

Accuver DRM support


• Added support for Qualcomm-based 5GNR UEs in Accuver XCAL.

• Resolved a problem preventing DRM files using R&S TSMW scanners from loading.
Support of attributes from the TSMW messages shall be implemented in a future
release.

• Support added for UL BLER and PDCP Throughput (see Qualcomm chipset section
below for details).

Freewill AzenQOS (AZM) support


• Resolved a problem where LTE_Attach_Duration and LTE_Detach_Duration
were set twice.

• Resolved a problem where the following RTP attributes were not being set:
o VoIP_Num_RTPPacket_Lost_DL_Total

• Added support for TEMS Investigation 21.0 and TEMS Pocket 20.3 in TRR API

• Support for Qualcomm-based 5GNR UEs in Infovista TEMS Investigation:

• Error logging (defaults to “WARN” level logging) of TEMS decode is enabled by
default.

• Implemented SIP_Handshake_Time from SIP INVITE to 200 OK for the INVITE


message.

• Resolved a problem where PCI was reported as 0 for certain Samsung Exynos
chipset messages. PCI shall no longer be reported from the LTE PHY Parameter
0x42 messages and LTE L1 Sync 0x42 messages.

• Resolved a problem which prevented mixed CDMA / LTE Samsung S9 (SM-


G960U) devices from detecting LTE messaging.

• New OTT app-based testing attributes created:


o TEMS_Twitter_Operation_Duration
o TEMS_Twitter_LogOff_Duration
o TEMS_Twitter_LogOn_Duration
o WhatsApp_Operation_RTT

• Resolved a problem where App_Throughput_DL values were being wrongly
reported for PPPRATE messages. Now it is only set on DRATE messages.

• Support added for version 1.0.10.0, including 5G beam analysis.

• Added support for Transmission Mode from TTI-based messaging (LTE LL1 PUSCH
CSF) to create new attributes, mapped onto the existing transmission mode
format group: LTE_UE_TM_DL and LTE_UE_TM_DL_for_Carrier[ ]

• Support for Qualcomm-based 5GNR UEs in Rohde & Schwarz ROMES4.

• Support improved for LTE_SCAN_COMMAND, LTE_SCAN_ RESULT and


5G_SCAN_RESULT (to support CINR measurements) into the Message Browser.

• Support added for 5GNR UE support in ROMES4 v19.0 (Note: NR-related


measurements requires Analyzer 5GNR Platform License):

o Resolved a problem where first loading a SwissQual QualiPoc file would
disable Data Service Analysis events for subsequent files to be triggered.

• Improvements have been made to the setting of LTE SCell Index from 3GPP
Rel.13 messages, to set the LTE_Uu_RRC_SCellToAddMod_sCellIndex
attribute. The maximum value has been increased to 31.

• Support added for SCell Index from 3GPP Rel.13 RRC Connection Reconfiguration:
o LTE_UE_RRC_SCellToAddMod_SCellIndex (LTE_UE_Scell_Idx)

Cellrefs
• Sector Resolution for 5GNR UEs has been implemented.

Data Expressions
• A new function CurClosestCellLookup() has been added, to find the closest cell
to a binned data point, and to return a value from that cell. This function uses
“effective distance” which depends on several criteria (not just line-of-sight) such
as technology, carrier and azimuth. Several parameters may be passed into the
function, to be used in binned queries.

Examples:

• Support has been added for embedded NR-RRC containers inside LTE-RRC
messages. Note that single container NR messages appear direct between UE and
new gNB node, and embedded containers are represented by multiple arrows in
the same row, as seen selected in the Call Flow Viewer below:

Documentation Changes
• Attribute help has been added to SIP_*** events, to inform the user that those
attributes are deprecated and the generic VoIP_Event_*** events should be
used instead.

• Many new 5GNR attributes have been described in the Attribute Help.

End of Life of 32-bit support


• Advance notice is given that by the end of 2019, support for 32-bit Actix Analyzer
shall be deprecated.
