containers
5G-NR support
• This month’s release includes many improvements specific to 5G decodes and
support for Qualcomm-based UEs in InfoVista TEMS Investigation, Accuver XCAL
and Qualcomm QXDM. Users with the LTE-Advanced-Pro platform license
benefit only from the RRC signaling decode. Chipset and vendor-specific attribute
support for 5G NR requires the 5G-NR platform license:
o Support for InfoVista TEMS Investigation 21.0 (TRR 21.0.2) 5G devices
o Support for Accuver XCAL (DRM) 5G devices
o Support for Rohde & Schwarz ROMES4 5G devices
o Support for Qualcomm QXDM ISF X50-based chipset 5G devices
o Support for 3GPP Rel.15.2 and Rel.15.3 RRC NSA signaling
o Protocol Stack Browser 5G Handset template
o Call Flow Viewer 5G NSA support, including embedded RRC containers
o Sector resolution for 5GNR UEs
o Physical_Throughput_DL/UL updated at transition between radio access
technologies
• Resolved a problem preventing DRM files using R&S TSMW scanners from loading.
Support of attributes from the TSMW messages shall be implemented in a future
release.
• Support added for UL BLER and PDCP Throughput (see Qualcomm chipset section
below for details).
• Resolved a problem where the following RTP attributes were not being set:
o VoIP_Num_RTPPacket_Lost_DL_Total
o VoIP_Num_RTPPacket_DL_Total
o VoIP_Lost _Packets
o VoIP_Num_Packet_Lost
o RTP_PayloadLength_Arr
o RTP_Sequence_Number_Arr
o RTP_SSRC_Arr
o RTP_Timestamp_Arr
• Resolved a problem where PCI was reported as 0 for certain Samsung Exynos
chipset messages. PCI shall no longer be reported from the LTE PHY Parameter
0x42 messages and LTE L1 Sync 0x42 messages.
• Added support for Transmission Mode from TTI-based messaging (LTE LL1 PUSCH
CSF) to create new attributes, mapped onto the existing transmission mode
format group: LTE_UE_TM_DL and LTE_UE_TM_DL_for_Carrier[ ]
o MIB
o OTAPACKET (RRC signaling)
o NR5G_MOBILE
General
• 5GNR RRC messages decoded Rel.15.2 and Rel.15.3 NSA signaling, supported in
the attribute NR_RRC_MessageType:
o RRC Reconfiguration
o RRC Reconfiguration Complete
o UE MRDC Capability
o Radio Bearer Config
o Meas Result SCG-Failure
• Improvements have been made to the setting of LTE SCell Index from 3GPP
Rel.13 messages, to set the LTE_Uu_RRC_SCellToAddMod_sCellIndex
attribute. The maximum value has been increased to 31.
• Support added for SCell Index from 3GPP Rel.13 RRC Connection Reconfiguration:
o LTE_UE_RRC_SCellToAddMod_SCellIndex (LTE_UE_Scell_Idx)
Cellrefs
• Sector Resolution for 5GNR UEs has been implemented.
Data Expressions
• A new function CurClosestCellLookup() has been added, to find the closest cell
to a binned data point, and to return a value from that cell. This function uses
“effective distance” which depends on several criteria (not just line-of-sight) such
as technology, carrier and azimuth. Several parameters may be passed into the
function, to be used in binned queries.
Examples:
• Many new 5GNR attributes have been described in the Attribute Help.
