In This Version
This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates for
most technologies that Analyzer supports, with changes falling under the following
categories:

• Technology improvements:
o 2 new stateforms added for 5GNR Handset analysis
o Single RAT OTA signaling column in Protocol Stack Browser template

• New collections of devices and improvements:


o Support for 5GNR UEs in Rohde & Schwarz ROMES4 and QualiPoc 19.1
o Improvements and new version support for over 10 Qualcomm 5GNR
message log codes
o Breakdown of NR 5G MAC DCI Info message into raw information element
attributes

• Platform improvements:
o Message Browser and Protocol Stack Browser message type filtering
support added for Rohde & Schwarz ROMES4 and QualiPoc formats.
o Layout improvements to the Message Browser message panel, for table-
based messages for Qualcomm 5GNR. A new default font is set for new
installations, and highly recommended for existing (upgrading) users.

5G-NR support
• Support added for Rohde & Schwarz ROMES4 and QualiPoc 5GNR UEs (v19.1).

• Support for 3GPP RRC Rel15.6 signaling.

• Support added for New 5GNR UE-based stateforms have been added:
o 5G NR Handset Beam Measurements
o 5G NR Handset Serving Cell Parameters

• Support added for a single technology RAT OTA signaling template in the Protocol
Stack Browser:

Accuver XCAL (DRM) support


• Resolved an issue where 5G NR was not being detected in a file.

• Implemented support for Connection_Server_URL and Task_File_Name


attributes from Youtube Call Config messages.

• Support added for PCTel iBflex UMTS and LTE scanner data from .SCX log format.

• LTE Band attributes set for PCell and SCell carriers being set as attributes:
o LTE_UE_BAND_DL
o LTE_UE_BAND_DL_for_Carrier[n]

Infovista TEMS support


• Support added for the following Galaxy S9 messages: Common HPLMN Timer
0x2105, LTE L1 PUSCH Statistics 0x2216, and LTE L2 PDCP Statistics 0x224c.

• Resolved a problem where the attributes LTE_UE_Bandwidth_DL and


LTE_UE_Bandwidth_UL were not being set correctly when the UE was not in
CA-active mode.

• Support added for the LTE L1 Downlink Info2 message, 0x221b, from Galaxy S9,
supporting up to 256QAM:

• Support added for the LTE PHY Received Signal Quality Information message,
0x2209, from Galaxy S9, supporting MIMO and CA:

PCTel SeeGull DTR support
• Resolved an issue where the MIB decode was giving a spurious error (although
while correctly decoding the message).

Qualcomm QXDM / chipset support


• Improvements made to the reporting frequency of th eattribute
Physical_Throughput_DL_LTE, which is now calculated at every 500ms period
and hoisted back to the most recent LTE ML1 PDSCH stat indication message.

• Resolved an issue where a QXDM .ISF file containing LTE messages caused
Analyzer to crash during file loading.

• Improvements made to NR 5G ML1 Serving Cell Beam Management (0xB975)


message, to support additional RX paths, where now paths 0…7 are supported:

• Added support to break down NR 5G MAC DCI Info (0xB885) message into
individual information elements, controlled by a Preference setting under Format
> Qualcomm > Full Attribute Support:

• The vendor-specific information element attributes (both scalar and array-based)
are grouped under 5GNR > Vendor_Specific > Qualcomm. Note that this
message consists of single information elements, array elements, and array-of-
array elements, reflected in the attribute naming convention:

• Changes made to decode of the NR 5G MAC DCI Info (0xB885) message, to


standardize the formatting of information element as “enumeration (raw)”:

• Message Resolved an issue where ScanSigLevel[*] attributes were showing


frequency values instead of signal level values.

• Improvements made to the Message Browser event panel and filtering options for
ROMES4 LTE and 5GNR files.

Rohde & Schwarz QualiPoc/Smart Benchmarker MF support


• Support added for QualiPoc 19.1 5GNR handset measurements, supporting the

• Improvements made to the Message Browser event panel and filtering options for

Event Detection Improvements


• Resolved a problem where LTE Detach events were not being detected correctly
for certain Samsung Exynos chipset devices. This had two contributing elements
to the resolution:
o Resolved a problem where L3_Direction was being set incorrectly for
certain EMM messages.
o Resolved a problem in the decoding of the EMM Detach Request UL
message, where not all the contents were being previously decoded.

General
• Support added for 3GPP RRC Rel15.6 decode.

• Attributes extracted for NR-RRC-MIB.

• Improvements made to the encoding of the number of supported LTE SCCs within
the UE_Capabilities attribute, which is possible to extract via the following
expression:
o bitwiseand( UE_Capabilities, 1008 )/2^4

Application Layer Improvements

Attributes
• Moved the attribute NR_UE_SubcarrierSpacing under the Serving Cell
Parameter tree node.

• Renamed the attribute NR_UE_RACH_SeqID (added in AU1908) to be


NR_UE_RACH_Procedure_Count and started the counter at 1 not 0.

Format Groups
• Improved ranges for 5GNR Mbps legend, allowing a more sensible distribution of
throughput in the map legend and chart/table histogram views.

• Corrected the maximum value of NR_SubCarrierSpacing_DL.

• Changed the format group of attribute NR_UE_RLC_NumPDUs_DL to Count.

Stateforms
• New 5GNR UE-based stateforms have been added:
o 5G NR Handset Beam Measurements
o 5G NR Handset Serving Cell Parameters

Platform Improvements

Message Browser
• Added event panel events and filter options for LTE and 5GNR for ROMES4 and
QualiPoc formats.

• Improvements have been made to the overall layout of messages in the Message
Browser, to assist with the column alignment and reading of tables of information
elements within the same message.
o Added horizontal scrollbar for messages which span wider than the current
message panel view. Clicking Left / Right cursor keys will also scroll within
the message.
o It is important that users reset the font in the Message Browser to a fixed
width font, such as Courier New, to achieve the best results of the
alignment changes. The default font for new installations is set to Courier
New, but existing users who upgrade without deleting their
AppSettings.DAT file will need to manually change the font.
