3. Accomplishment Instructions (Cont’d)

(4) Install two igniters P/N 3032096, together with new gaskets P/N 3010880, into
threaded bosses in gas generator case. Tighten and torque igniters to 200 to
240 lb.in. (22.60-27.12 Nm).

NOTE: Do not apply lubricant on the igniter boss.

(5) At P3 tube flange connection to gas generator case on side adjacent to pressure oil
tube, remove bolt P/N MS9565-06 and install longer bolt P/N MS9565-08, bracket
P/N MS9592-010 and washer P/N MS9321-09. Tighten, torque and safety bolt in
accordance with normal procedures.

(6) Install ignition cables P/N 3029443 on engine:

NOTE: 1. When assembling any ignition components, do not use lubricants

containing grease or silicone, nor lubricants such as vaseline.

NOTE: 2. Only those ignition cables with rubber insulated sleeves may be sprayed
with fluorocarbon dry lubricant such as MS-122 and Zeplon to assist in
the installation. Do not use any lubricant on those cables with teflon
insulated sleeves.

CAUTION: DO NOT ALLOW ANY LUBRICANT TO COME IN CONTACT WITH

CENTRAL CONDUCTORS OF CABLES, IGNITERS AND EXCITERS.
CONTACT WITH CONDUCTORS MAY RESULTS IN A HIGH
RESISTANCE PATH WHICH COULD GENERATE HEAT AND
OXIDATION LEADING TO THE WELDING OF THE ELECTRICAL
CONTACTS.

(a) Thread both cables (exciters and couplings) rearward through holes in rear
fireseal bottoms half and connect fully to ignition exciter cable receptacles,
by hand, ensuring that no thread binding occurs.

(b) Thread igniter ends of cables through holes in bottom half of front fireseal and
connect fully to ignition igniters, ensuring that no thread binding occurs.

(c) Tighten coupling nuts finger tight plus five (5) degrees at the exciter end and
finger tight plus 45 degrees at the igniter end. Lockwire both coupling nuts at
the exciter end only.

(7) Attach clamp assemblies, angle support brackets and backplate to igniter cables,
fireseals, fuel tubes and P3 air tube flange as shown in Figure 1, and using
hardware indicated in Para. 2.C., Material Necessary for Each Engine. Interconnect
two clamps below ignition exciter. Tighten all nuts and torque 36 to 40 lb. in.
(4.07-4.52 Nm).
