Exercise 1. Show that (a) y = 2ex , (b) y = 3x, and (c) y = C1 ex + C2 x, where C1 and C2 are
arbitrary constants, are solutions of the differential equation y 00 (1 − x) + y 0 x − y = 0.

Exercise 2. Show that every member of the family of functions
