SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH


Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of: Rebuilding our Society through
Appreciating/Respecting Differences.

Performance Standard: The learner presents a visual representation about the Philippine Tourism Campaign.

I. OBJETIVES: At the end of the lesson, at least 85% of the students should be able to:

a. create visual representation ( concept map, organizer, etc.) based on the material viewed,

b. share appreciation and experience on the visited place in the Philippines and;

c. express/elaborate own idea based on a given situation.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

TOPIC: REBUILDING OUR SOCIETIES

SUB TOPIC: APPRECIATING/RESPECTING DIFFERENCES

REFERENCE: DIVERSITY: Celebrating Multiculturalism through World Literature ( Module 4, Lesson 1 Pages 407-
409) (Code No. EN10LC-Iva-16)

MATERIALS: Laptop, Strips of paper, Worksheet, Video clip, DLP

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminaries ( 5 min. )

 Prayer
 Checking of Attendance

B. Lesson Proper

B.1. Activity ( 10 min. )

 YES/NO !
The learners will be grouped into 4. The teacher reads strips of statements answerable by Yes or No. The
learner will simply write their answers on the board. YES if they agree and NO if otherwise. Every correct
answer has corresponding points.

B.2. Analysis ( 5 min.)

 SHARE IT!
THE TEACHER WILL ASK THE LEARNERS:
 Have you visited another place?
Let the learners share their experiences and discoveries about their travels.

The teacher will show pictures.

 Give your observations.


 What do you love being a Filipino?
 If given a chance to travel for free, which destination will you visit first?

B.3. ABSTRACTION ( 10 min.)

After watching the video

 Did you see how different our country really is?


 What new information did you gather from the video?
 Did you notice that Filipinos is very creative specifically in the use of language?
 Do you think that social media particularly Youtube is more effective in promoting a campaign
than other forms of communication, like the print media?
 Can we say that it is really more fun in the Philippines ?

B.4. APPLICATION (10-15 min)

 After watching the video clip


 Dyad activity
 Let the learner complete the concept map based on the video clip presented
 The teacher will choose 5 pairs to share their output to class.

C. GENERALIZATION (5 min.)

 What makes you proud being a filipino?

 Listening Test ( it’s more fun in the Philippines by Apl de Ap)


 List 10 things from the video where Filipinos being proud of.

V. ASSIGNMENT

 Reserch and take notes on the sources of information.
