!
You will need a Business Catalyst account with the blog module enabled. Muse publishes to
Business Catalyst but by default this is only the web basics account and therefore does not have
the blog module available. So to start with we need to head over to Adobe Business Catalyst and
create a site there first.!

!
5. Once setup is complete you will automatically be logged into the site.!
!
!
STEP 2: Setting up the Blog in Business Catalyst!
!
1. From the dash board choose Modules > Blogs in the left hand menu.
!
2. Next click on the “Add Blog” button.!
3. Enter the blog name and call it blog (This is the required name for our blog to work with Muse)!
!
4. We will be able to link to the blog by using /blog in our menu on the Muse site.
!
5. Click save and our blog has been created it might be a good idea to add a sample article now
so that we have content on the site for when the blog has been added. We can add articles
later as well.!
!
We have now completed our setup on Business Catalyst time to add the blog in Muse.
STEP 3: Creating a Business Catalyst Template in Muse!
!
Make sure you have installed the “+BC Blog Modules” library into Muse 7.0 or above.!
!
!
!
!
!
!
!
!
!
!
!
1. Open the site you want to add you blog to in Muse and click publish selecting the site we
previously created on Business Catalyst!
2. Once published click the manage button in Muse to go directly to the Business Catalyst Dash
from Muse. You can go to the dash directly from Muse at any time with the manage button.!
!
3. Next create a new page and call it “Blog” then right click on the page and choose to include the
page but without the Hyperlink.!
4. Now go to wherever you main navigation is located and do the following, select the butting that
now says blog, go the Hyperlink tool and enter “/blog” and press enter. This will now make that
button link to the site blog. Publish and test.!
5. If you tested the site online you will notice that the blog page does not match the site. Now
open the blog page in Muse and do the following:
!
A. Open the page properties Page > Page Properties and set the page min height to 200!
B. Then drag the Blog Enabler Widget from the Muse Library panel onto the page.!
C. Then set up the options as you want them and you can publish the site.!
6. Once publish click the manage button to go back into the Business Catalyst console. Then go
to Modules > Blogs and select the “Blog Details” tab. By adding the blog enabler widget we
have now created a working template for the blog select the Desktop - Blog (or whatever it is
called on you site) from the list and click save.

8. Go back to muse.!
!
STEP 4: Uploading the support files.!
!
The support files are used by Business Catalyst and muse but are not part of the actual site so we
will need to upload them separately.!
!
1. Find the folder named “Files To Upload”. In Muse open a page and the select File > Add Files
For Upload then navigate to the locate you just found and select all the files. You will seem
them in the Muse assets panel with a little black up arrow next to them.
These files are used by the blog enabler widget and the “Latest articles widget which we will
add next.
!
2. Publish the site to upload the files.!
!
!
STEP 4: Adding the latest articles widget.!
!
This widget will show the latest additions to your blog in a list format. This can be used anywhere
on the site and as many times as you wish.!
!
1. Open the page you wish to place the widget onto.

2. Clear a space for the widget.
!
3. Drag the widget from the Muse library panel onto the page.
!
4. Configure the widget and publish the site.!
!
5. Thats it you blog is now fully enabled now go and create some content.!
!
Trouble Shooting…!
!
1. When I click the blog button it does not go to the blog page?
This happens when the hyperlink for the button does not match the url of the blog. If you called
the blog - Blog then the hyperlink must be /blog.
!
2. There is a big white space at the base of the blog page?
Make sure you set the blog page properties in Muse to a height of 200.
!
3. The latest news widget is not displaying properly?
Make sure you have uploaded all of the files in the “Files For Upload” folder.
!
4. How do I style the text on the blog page to match my site?
Drag the blog paragraph style library item onto the blog page, change the text styles using the
Muse text tools. Locate the paragraph style in the styles panel and redefine the style.
Remove the paragraphs style from the page and publish the site.
