The Pichammai Educational and Charitable Trust
In the year 2018, the Kallal group embarked on its cardinal project —
to establish a humanitarian and Philanthropic organisation to aid the
families of its employees, and also include, and extend the goodwill to
the community around.
The Pichammai Educational and Charitable Trust was born with this
vision to provide support, healthcare, better educational opportunities,
food security and good nutrition to the community.
The resulted in the inception of our Community Canteens, opened and

running daily, in both Kallal and Karaikudi. The canteen, serving
unlimited healthy nutritious meals, at the minimal cost of Rs. 10/- to all
who walks in, drew the attention of the media.
Its success story was exclusively covered, which in turn, enabled our
story to reach the citizens’ ears. At the community’s request, the trust
exteneded its support Sivagangai Government Hospital with an RO
plant for public health.
The Pichammai Educational and Charitable Trust is spearheaded by a

circle of five trustees, with its Principle Trustee being Mr. Saravannan
Palaniappan, while Mr. Vijay Dwarakananthan, Mr. Vijayanand
Vinayakamurthy, Mr. Kunal Shah, and Mr. Sundaram
complete this circle.
Kallal Agro Farms:
Among the new ventures that the Kallal Group have taken on, is Kallal
Agro Farms. The company has been actively acquiring agricultural
farmlands and plantations, with the grand vision of cultivating a large
and diverse array of crops, and consolidate them in a single Agro
portfolio.
This has resulted in the firm, now, including a diary unit, which boasts
two hundred cows, into its portfolio.
To further increase the productivity of agro-based activities, and the
resourceful usability of the land, the company has also developed land
banks. However, these land banks fall under the Kallal Agro
Processors, which has evolved into a separate vertical of the group.
Kallal Agro Processors
Parallel to the Kallal Agro Farm venture, the Kallal Group has launched
the Kallal Agro Processors. Under this venture, the Group has embarked
on its first elaborate project of erecting a Mega Food Park, close to
Madurai.
The park — which has gained the buffer of government subsidies — has
been designed to repurpose parcels of the acquired land, into land
banks. This will allow the development and maintenance of large-scale
warehouse facilities, and food processing units, within the same radius
of the farmlands.
Such units will facilitate the extraction of oil from fruits and vegetables
such as pepper, onion etc., and also produce vegetable powders and
salts.
The scale and singularity of this Food Park, will empower the effortless
functioning of a fluidAgro System, that can directly procure raw
materials harvested from the farmlands and process and convert them
to consumable packaged food, all in the same vicinity.
Kallal Hospitalities
The Kallal Group has entered the hospitatlity industry with the launch
of its first restaurant ___________, sitauted in Poes Garden, Chennai. Under
the umbrella of Kallal Hospitalities, the company is working on the
developing and expanding a chain of thematic hotels and resorts, that
will sport spas, and various leisure activities. These properties are to
spring up across the holiday hotspots in Tamil Nadu, beginning with the
hill station of Yercaud.
Simultaneously, the company has also acquired and restored several
heritage bungalows, in-and-around the Chettinad district, with the
objective of endorsing these heritage hotels, as the ‘go-to’ venue to host
and celebrate weddings, amidst opulance, elegance and luxury.
Kallal Entertainment
In the pipeline for the Kallal group is the launch of Kallal Entertainment.
Foraying into the entertainment industry, this film production company
has already successfully produced and released its first film July Kaatril,
a tamil film, in theatres across Tamil Nadu and parts of India, in 2019,
under its former eponym of Kavya Entertainment Productions.
Two other films are currently under production. Acclaimed Director

Ezhil is helming the first project, with famed Indian actors Parthiban
and Gautham Karthik in lead roles. The company has roped in
celebrated Director-Screenwriter K.S. Ravikumar, for the latter.
Kallal Entertainment is looking to take on more projects in the coming

year.
