My teacher asked me to research and write a project about local
mysteries in my area. To find out about the subject, I’ve found 5
ways to dive in to explore and investigate about the local mysteries. To start with the obvious one is asking the elderly peoples for stories that happened in the past. Local mysteries often originated by witnesses whom had experience an unnatural phenomenon in their lives. Their stories usually become the foundation to research the local mysteries. The second way is to speak with the local police officers. They usually on duty and always find out peculiar things that happen during their duties. Next, visiting a local museum is a great choice because museum always record any event that happened in the area. Other alternative such as researching books in the library is also a good choice because books that was produced in the area can give related information about the mysteries. And last but not least, using internet as a research material such as Wikipedia can give more detail on what happened in the area. Personally, I would prefer to choose speaking with the local police officers rather with the elderly people. The reason behind my statement is because police officers give more accurate description while maintaining facts of the mysteries that happen. I don’t feel that the elderly people could do better. Another useful way for me is get the books out of the local library. I believe that books gave more crucial information then the local museum and the internet because the local museum cannot fit more detailed information so much when compared with books. I cannot say the same with the Internet when there’s always an incomplete index somewhere that cannot be used as a fact and it’s always vulnerable from fact manipulation.
