1. In the yard were chickens and rabbits. Together they had 18 heads and 56 legs.

many chickens and how many rabbits were in the yard?

2. In a cage there are chicken and rabbits. The total number of heads is 10 and the total
number of legs is 26. Question: how many rabbits and chicken are there?

3. A monkey has a strict banana eating schedule. On a sunny day it eats 20 bananas and on a
rainy day it eats 12 bananas. In 8 consecutive days it eats 112 bananas. Question: how
many sunny days are there in these 8 days?

4. In a math competition there are 20 questions. Each question is worth 5 points if answered
correctly; otherwise 3 points will be deducted. If Michael got 60 points in this
competition, how many questions he answered correctly?

5. There are 50 girls and boys in a class who are planting trees. Each girl plants 4 trees; each
boy plants 2 trees. If the total number of trees planted by girls are 20 more than that by
boys, how many boys are in the class?

6. In a math exam, there are 50 problems. For each question, it is worth 2 points if answered
correctly; worth 0 if not answered; and a half point will be deducted if answered
incorrectly. If Michael answered x questions correctly, did not answer y questions, what
is the total score he got? ( represent your answer in x and y. )
