TYPE-JOB DISCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: FINANCE DIRECTOR

REPORTS TO: MANAGING DIRECTOR

OVERVIEW OF THE FINANCE DIRECTOR JOB SUMMURY

Finance Director to oversee all financial aspects of business and drive the company’s financial
strategy and planning. You will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the
company as well as possible risks and investments.

A director of finance is a reliable professional with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial
and business principles. They are strategic thinkers and effective leaders who can make the most
profitable decisions.

The goal is to guide the company towards profitability and long-term success.

DUITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
2. Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
3. Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system
4. Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants,
internal auditors etc.)
5. Oversee all audit and internal control operations
6. Develop the corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and
investors
7. Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
8. Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives
9. Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
10. Driving the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
11. Retaining constant awareness of the company’s financial position and acting to prevent
problems
12. Setting up and overseeing the company’s finance IT system.
13. Prepare the financial statements within the period’s supplies in the corporate closing schedule
and according to the Boston Policies and Procedures (BPP), Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts.
14. Analyze and interpret financial results in order to assist and advise the Managing Director,
ownership representative and the Boston Corporate Team.
15. Maintain balance sheet analysis on at least a quarterly basis and preferably on a monthly
basis with full supporting detail.
16. Prepare accurate cash flow statements and projections on a monthly basis and on request.
17. Update and implement financial policies and procedures.
18. Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed
19. Maximize working capital and cash flow statements and projections on a monthly basis and
on request.
20. Ensure successful treasury cash management as set forth in the policies and procedures
manual.
21. Ensure compliance with management agreements and contracts and attendant legal
documents.  Understanding how those documents translate into financial responsibilities and
how they may affect both the resorts and corporate financial position.
22. Analyze the financial climate and market trends to assist senior executives in creating
strategic plans for the future.
23. Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions
24. Update and implement financial policies and procedures, maintain a policy manual for the
finance department.
25. Establish and implement a training program for new finance employees.
26. Seek out methods and practices to minimize financial risk.

PREREQUISITES:
Requirements include BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
Five (5) years service/hotel experience.
Experience:

Previous experience in similar Job role minimum of 5 years experience similar position proven
track records.

 Proven experience as director of finance or similar role


 In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best
practices
 Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
 Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
 An analytical mind with a strategic ability
 Excellent organizational and leadership skills
 Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
 CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus

You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
