I would say “YES” – employee relations are necessary for any organization.

It is important to
maintain employee relations in the company and is also a pre-requisite for organizational
success. Good employee relations help in building a positive, safe, productive work
environment for all the employees working in the organization and also lead to increase in
organization’s sales level. Moreover, good employee relations help reduce workforce conflicts
in general, boosts staff morale and builds company culture. Strong employee relations help in
increasing productivity and also results in human satisfaction. Each and every organization can
achieve strong employee relations by motivating their employees and setting proper goals to
them.

The main things that HR supports employee relations are fairness, consistency and effective
communication system in the organization. Fairness – Every employee has expectations of
treating them fair by the management, thereby management must treat all its employees
equally and fairly and they should avoid employee favoritism. Competitive salaries should be
fairly given to employees and this should be awarded purely on basis of employee talents, skills
and efforts. Consistency – It is important for HR to gain and maintain credibility by applying the
principles in the organizations. Communication – Quiet an important role that HR should fulfill
and value their employees in each and every aspect. It is important to make employees feel
engaged and responsible and employees should be informed about the management plans and
how their plans would affect them individually. It is also important for every organization to
encourage employee feedback and from this, employers can know the concerns of each
employee and their views about you as an employer. Employees should also feel that their
opinions are being considered and cared at the same time.

Organizations should also have a clear set of rules and regulations for employees to maintain
good employee relations. Effective employee relation creates a motivated and productive
workforce in the company. In addition, healthy employee relations reduce the absenteeism
problem. Having good relations makes employees start enjoying their work and they stop
complaining against each other and give their best for the organization. Also, good relations
ease the workload which in turn increases the overall productivity. Finally, I feel that good
employee relations should be necessary for every organization and they should maintain a
healthy relation with each other at the workplace.
