System Control Switch Board, Replace

2/154 31-ANZ 251 01/6 Uen B | 2018-06-12

Introduction

1 Introduction

1.1 Scope
This Operational Instruction describes the procedure to replace a System Control
Switch Board (SCXB) in an Enhanced Generic Ericsson Magazine 2 (EGEM2). This
operation is used either in case of a faulty card or in case of availability of a new
revision of the hardware (spare part handling). This Operational Instruction does
not cover the procedure for replacing SCXB2 with SCXB3.

Some steps in the procedure must be performed on site.

Procedure

2 Procedure

2.1 Prerequisites

2.1.1 Conditions
The following conditions must apply before this procedure can be completed:

— A technician is available on site.

— If this Operational Instruction is not referenced by another Operational

Instruction, a work order shall be available.

— The infrastructure is based on EGEM2 architecture with SCXB and AXE

managed infrastructure.

— In dual CP systems, the Central Processor (CP) is in normal working state,

that is, the CP A side is in Executive (EX) state, and the CP B side is Standby,
Working (SB/WO) state.

— The Managed Element Identity for the Relative Distinguished Name (RDN)
‘‘ManagedElement =<MEId>’’ is known.

2.1.2 Data
The following data must be known to complete this procedure:

— The physical position of the System Control Switch (SCX) board to be replaced
(subrack address and slot number).

— Product identity and revision of the Software (SW) and Firmware (FW)
modules to be loaded on the new SCX board.

— Product identity of the SCXB3 Board (or higher version). See the label on
the extractor handle. The product identity for these boards is other than
ROJ208386/2.

2.1.3 Special Aids

The following special aids are required to complete this procedure:

— Grounding wrist strap, LYB 25001 or equivalent.

— Torque driver, size 1/4'', LSS 10105/2.

— Screwdriver bit, TX 8, L=26 mm, LSA 12601/08.

Check If the Board Is Ready for Replacement

1. Check the status of the blue Manual Intervention Allowed (MIA) Light
Emitting Diode (LED) on the SCXB to be replaced.

Note: This step must be performed on site.

2. Is the MIA LED turned on?

Yes
Go to Step 5.

Note: This Operational Instruction is referred by another procedure that

has already prepared the board for replacement. No further actions
are needed.

No
Go to Step 3.

Prepare SCXB for Replacement

3. Prepare for manual intervention of the SCXB. Use parameters MAG and SLOT.

Use command REMII.

Note: MAG and SLOT were supplied as prerequisite data to this Operational
Instruction.

4. Wait until the blue MIA LED on the SCXB lights up.

Note: For detailed information on the LED messages, see Additional

Information Section 3.3 on page 13.

Switch to AP Local Mode
