Slide 1. Ask different students to describe the pictures. Then tell them, they’re going to listen to
a song. Their task is to choose one of the pictures to represent the song, and be prepared to
explain why.
After playing the song once, ask students to write: L(left), M (middle) or R (right) in the chat box
to indicate which picture they chose. Ask random students to explain their choices. Also ask them
if they recognize the singer or the song (but don’t tell them who it is).

Step 2 (10 min)

Show the table with the word definitions.
Tell students they are going to listen to the song again, but now they have to identify words in
the song.
Ask students to read the definitions. Have them take a print of the screen, as as they listen to
the song, write their answers on a sheet of paper
Play the song 2x..

ANSWERS
[Verse 1]
Stop the clocks now, it's amazing [Chorus]
You should see the way the light dances off your hair Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
A million colours of light hazel, golden, and red Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
Saturday morning is fading
The sun's reflected by the coffee in your hand [Verse 2]
My eyes are caught in your gaze all over here again The weather outside's changing fast
The leaves are buried under six inches of white
[Pre-Chorus] The radio is playing Iron & Wine
We were love-drunk, waiting on a new miracle This is a new dimension
Tryna find ourselves in the winter snow This is a hard level where we're losing track of time
So alone in love like the whole world had disappeared I'm holding nothing against it, except you and I
Oh, I won't be silent and I won't let go
I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow
And we'll burn so bright 'til the darkness softly clears
away

That’s it for this first song-based LP in 2021! I hope this activity is helpful and enjoyable!
