Project Report Guidelines

1. NUMBER OF COPIES TO BE SUBMITTED:

Students should submit one copy to the Administrative Office on or before the specified
date.
The Report should be made in executive bond paper and bound in black,
matt finish with gold coloured embossing and gold coloured Corner
safety clips. None of the pages should have a border.

Students are advised to keep one bound copy for themselves.

2. SIZE OF PROJECT REPORT:


The size of project report should be in the range of 60-120 pages of typed matter
reckoned from page # 1 beginning with Executive Summary. The emphasis is on
Quality and Content and NOT on number of pages.

3. PAGE DIMENSIONS AND MARGINS:


The dimensions of the final bound copy of the project report should be in standard A4
size. 80 gsm paper may be used for preparing the copies.

The final copy of the project report (at the time of submission) should have the
following page margins:

Top edge : 3 cm to 3.5 cm (1.2” to 1.4”)


Bottom edge : 2.5 cm to 3 cm (1” to 1.2”)
Left side : 3. 5 cm to 4.0 cm (1.4” to 1.6”)
Right side : 2 cm to 2.5 cm (0.8” to 1”)

4. FONT SIZE AND SPACING:


The report should be typed in ‘Times New Roman’, font size 12 in one and half line
spacing. Headings and Titles should in ‘Times New Roman’, font size 14.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Executive Summary should be of 1-2 pages, which is a summary of your project giving your
Objectives, Methodology (including sampling if applicable) Findings + Brief
Recommendations, if any.

Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
(1.1 /1.2 / 1.3)
Should include an introduction to your project, your industry and your company (as applicable).

1.4 OBJECTIVES /Hypothesis


State the Objectives and Hypothesis ( if any) of the project.

Example:

1.5 METHODOLOGY
Research methodology includes following stages:
• Research Design
• Nature of Data
• Research Instrument
• Sampling Technique / Sampling Frame/ Sample Size ( Minimum 150)
• Statistical Tools/Techniques

Chapter 2
LITERATURE REVIEW
Literature review should summarize the major contributions in the selected field and should
give an overview of the area of study.

10-15 Research paper/ research articles/research reports from reputed sources, holding
relevance to the research area chosen should be included in this section.

Chapter 3
ANALYSIS AND FINDINGS
State your analysis techniques and tools, if any, and furnish detailed analysis of your project.
Clearly include, as suitable, Diagrams, Pie-charts, Bar-diagrams, Graphs, to illustrate your
data concisely.

Please put the interpretation/ inference of the statistical analysis done below the tables/
charts /graphs.

Chapter 4
CONCLUSION & RECOMMENDATIONS
These must be based on your research findings.
APPENDICES
In case you have done statistical analysis, put in tables with proper labeling & numbering.
Include copy of questionnaire, if applicable.

BIBLIOGRAPHY
Include all sources of data – Primary and Secondary, Internet Sources,etc.
