1.14 A rectifier circuit gives the output waveform as shown in Fig. 5 where the
period is 10 msec and VP = 19.34 volts. The input signal is AC line 220 Vrms, 50Hz
at the primary coil of a transformer.
a) What type of this rectifier circuit, half wave or bridge rectifier. State your
reason. (5 marks )
b) If this circuit uses 10 KΩ as a load and the ripple voltage is 1 V, calculate
a capacitor filter for this rectifier circuit. (5 marks )
c) In order to get a real DC voltage +9 V, we have to connect an IC regulator
to this circuit. Draw a complete circuit with diodes rectifier and indicating
your IC number , where to connect it, for an output +9V DC with load 10 KΩ
