SPECIAL FEATURE ON
INDUSTRIAL MICROWAVE DRYING SYSTEMS– FROM HITEK
Ushering in a technological revolution in Heating and Drying Systems
The transition of time has brought out the shortcomings of conventional technology in tackling
certain specific problem areas. The conventional drying systems have the inherent disadvantage
of not being able to effectively remove the final traces of moisture. Removal of the final traces of
moisture becomes critical to the quality levels of tea leaves, particularly in the retention and
preservation of the inherent flavor and natural color..
The Hitek Microwave Heating Systems now offer you a cost effective alternative to conventional
drying systems, in finish drying of your tea leaves. Our studies have revealed overwhelming
evidence, proving beyond doubt the superiority of specialized microwave drying over
conventional drying. A host of advantages result from the deployment of a microwave based
finish drying systems:-

STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGY
The technology, the most contemporary in the field, is poised to usher in revolutionary changes in
heating and drying systems. For instance, tempering by microwaves as compared to conventional
methods has the following distinctive advantages.:- Improves quality of yield * No flavour loss *
No colour loss * No mess * Eliminates bacterial growth.
FINISH DRYING
When most of the water has been removed by conventional heating methods, microwaves remove
the last few percent of moisture from the interior of product quickly, efficiently, and without
overheating the already dried material
The Microwave treated product attains a quality level which is distinctly superior, unmatched by
those manufactured using conventional systems. Flavor and color retention is assured, leading to
greater acceptance by the market.
UNIFORM HEATING
Microwave energy is a form of electro - magnetic energy. The electrical power is converted to
heat. Since the penetration of electrical energy is uniform, the heating is even throughout the
block.
SELECTIVE HEATING
The system is capable of selectively heating the ingredients of a product, by discriminating the
variables. Microwaves selectively heat with little direct heating of most solids, gradients are
actually evened out. Drying is at relatively low temperatures, no part of the product need be hotter
than the vaporising temperature.
The heat application can be instantly started or terminated. Unlike the conventional dryers, there

is an abrupt cut - off of the heat application, which leads to critical control of the heating level.
ECO - FRIENDLY
The production process is entirely in a closed ambience, bereft of leakage and hence, in harmony
with the environment.
EFFECTIVE HEATING
Almost any heat transfer problem can benefit from the use of microwaves because of their ability
to heat in - depth without high temperature.
MOISTURE LEVELLING
QUICK INSTALLATION
Our trained engineers ensure faster installation and rapid integration with the conventional drying
systems.

The Hitek Industrial Microwave Dryers would be installed and arrayed in sequence after
the conventional drying systems, so that finish drying operations can be effectively carried
out.
Our Dryers assure removal of moisture from 6% - 8% to 3% or lower as desired.
THE PRODUCT
TECHNOLOGY
The high Frequency Dielectric Heating is based on the principles of conversion of electrical
energy to heat energy. With microwaves, no heat is applied per se. Instead, a form of radio waves
pass through the material. On directing the controlled high frequency waves, instant heat is
generated by molecular friction, this heat is optimally utilised for achieving significant results in
drying, heating, curing, vulcanizing, thawing sterilising, tempering, evaporating and bonding
applications. The systematic control mechanism, specially designed and developed, ensures
precise direction and conversion of electric energy into heat energy. For a substance to be
microwaveable, it must process an asymmetric molecular structure, as in the case of a water
molecule. The molecules of such substance from electric dipoles which, when exposed to an
electric field, assume an orientation relative to the direction of the field. It is this orientation
polarisation that is responsible for energy generation
