_____ 2. When is the submission of the problem set?
_____ 3. 3 x+5=7−x .
_____ 4. Exercise regularly and drink a lot of water.
_____ 5. 5 x−23=10−6 x if x=3 .

II. Let p, q and r be the propositions

p : It is raining. q : I am wearing my rubbers. r : I am carrying my umbrella.
Express each of the following in symbols using logical connectives.
__________ 1. It is raining and I am not wearing my rubbers.
__________ 2. It is not true that it is both raining and I am wearing my rubbers.
__________ 3. If I am wearing my rubbers then I am not carrying my umbrella.
__________ 4. Either I am wearing my rubbers or I am carrying my umbrella if and only if it is raining.
__________ 5. It is not raining if I am neither wearing my rubbers nor carrying my umbrella.

III. If A and B are true statements and X and Y are false statements, determine the truth value of each compound
proposition.
_____ 1. ( A∧Y )→( X ∨B ) _____ 2. [( A →B )→Y ]∧ A _____ 3. (¬B∨ X )↔(¬ A→Y )
_____ 4. ( A →¬B )∧(Y →¬ X ) _____ 5. [( X∧ A )→B ]→( Y → A )

IV. Construct the truth table for ( p →q ) ∨(¬ p→r ) .

p q r p q ¬p ¬p r ( p →q ) ∨(¬ p→r )
