Types of Operating Systems

There are several types of operating systems: 1. Batch operating systems do not interact directly with the computer but rather group similar jobs into batches to be processed. 2. MacOS acts as an interface between computer hardware and users, allowing users to run programs and applications without needing to understand computer language. 3. Linux is an open-source operating system that can be modified by anyone and offers customization advantages, though it has less than 2% of the global market share.

Types of operating systems

An Operating System performs all the basic tasks like managing files,
processes, and memory. Thus operating system acts as the manager of all
the resources, i.e. resource manager. Thus, the operating system becomes
an interface between user and machine.
Types of Operating Systems: Some widely used operating systems are as
follows-
1. Batch Operating System –
This type of operating system does not interact with the computer directly.
There is an operator which takes similar jobs having the same requirement
and group them into batches. It is the responsibility of the operator to sort
jobs with similar needs.
MacOS

An Operating System (OS) is a software that acts as an interface

between computer hardware components and the user. Every
computer system must have at least one operating system to run
other programs. Applications like Browsers, MS Office, Notepad
Games, etc., need some environment to run and perform its tasks.

The OS helps you to communicate with the computer without

knowing how to speak the computer's language. It is not possible for
the user to use any computer or mobile device without having an
operating system.
Linux

Linux (pronounced LINN-ux) is a family of open-source operating

systems, which means they can be modified and distributed by
anyone around the world. This is different from proprietary software
like Windows, which can only be modified by the company that owns
it. The advantages of Linux are that it is free, and there are many
different distributions—or versions—you can choose from.

According to StatCounter Global Stats, Linux users account for less

than 2% of global operating systems. However, most servers run
Linux because it's relatively easy to customize.

Microsoft Windows

Microsoft created the Windows operating system in the mid-1980s.

There have been many different versions of Windows, but the most
recent ones are Windows 10 (released in 2015), Windows 8
(2012), Windows 7 (2009), and Windows Vista (2007). Windows
comes pre-loaded on most new PCs, which helps to make it the
most popular operating system in the world.
