How To Handle Pressure Points in Techlog Logview - 6690405 - 01

This document provides instructions for importing multiple pressure points as symbol datasets from a CSV file into Techlog. It describes adding pressure symbols to the symbol manager, defining the CSV file format, and loading the CSV file to display the pressure symbols in a log view track.

Workflow summary

• This workflow will help you to import multiple pressure

points as Symbol dataset using *csv format rather than D&D
one by one using the Symbols manager.

• This template was defined in *.csv format in order to allow

an easy and quick update/edit.

• Moreover you can view the entire set of pressure points with
just 1 drag and drop from the Project Browser.
1. Add pressure symbols in Symbol Manager
• The gas, lc, oil, rft and water symbols need to be added into the Symbol Manager.
• They can be added as User, Project or Company level.
2. Define the *.csv pressure symbol file

• Column A: well name - use format wellName.

• Column B: your dataset name - use format
datasetName.
• Column C: ID - increasing numbers with
numbers of samples.
• Column D: aligns, 0 -left, 1-middle, 2-right
(horizontal alignments of symbols in the track).
• Column E: depths (pressure samples depths).
• Column F: code for symbol added level, 0-
project, 1-company, 2-user (has to be the
same level as the symbol that you added in
Step 1).
• Column G: names (has to be the same as the symbols that you added eg. gas, lc, rft,
water, oil).
• Column H: widths of symbol – eg 50% of the width of your track (the smaller the size of your track
plot, the bigger the widths of your symbol for clearer view).
3. Load the *.csv pressure symbol file -1
• From the Import buffer > Dataset > Parameters > ASCII Import > Array creation policy > Add an
epsilon to the reference value (this is due to the reason that pressure sampling are usually taken
very close over a depth range hence will be easily mistaken as an array if not selected).
4. Load the *.csv pressure symbol file -2
• Change dataset type to Symbols
• Set the columns C to H (3 to 8) to Variables as shown in the picture below.
5. Display the Pressure symbols in a LogView
• Drag and drop the newly imported dataset into the desired track
