All welders, welding operators, brazers, and brazing operators shall be


qualified in accordance with AWS D1.1 and SAEP-1150, SAEP-321, SAES-W-013

welding, including tack, temporary, and repair welds.

The Buttering operation shall be witenessed by Saudi Aramco Inspection


when buttering or weld build-up exceed the lesser 1/3 of the basemetal

thickness or 10mm.The buttering shall be inspected by PT or MT after

completion of the build-up but before final welding of the joint.

Note :Buttering shall not be used on a routine basis for correction of
dimensional tolerances.

Buttering or weld build-up on the prepared surfaces shall not exceed the SAES W-013
