ABSTRACT

This study aimed to find out how the use of multimedia packages in teaching
Human Respiratory System would help the academic performance of the learners.
A total number of 50 grade VII high school students were chosen as the
respondents of this quasi experimental research design. The researcher used a
15-item multiple choice achievement test were used to get the pretest and posttest
scores of the two groups of subjects. The findings of this study revealed a
significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of Traditional
Lecture group and Multimedia Package group. This implies that the Multimedia
Packages had a potential positive effect on the academic performance of the
respondents and with the Traditional Lecture method that showed positive result
even if there was no intervention implemented. Therefore, in this generation where
the 21st century learners were the center of education, integration of multimedia
packages in teaching Human Respiratory System was a must to make learning
more interactive, longer-lasting and more relevant to the outside world.
