ABSTRACT

Introduction
In our project “Hospital Management System” simply
defined as the systematic flow which deals in Hospital has been
proposed to be implemented to replace the manual system. This
Project has a subsystem called Patient Care which can manage
the information of the patient. It has a different level of activities
with designated modules. Those are Order Management,
Medication Management,Birth Registration, Death Registration,
Identity & Access Management.
Methodology
The method that the researcher’s user is Agile Scrum
Methodology. In this method, our documentation composed of
Four sprints where the project is accomplished within the given
time frame
Results
The conducted research by the development team innovate,
implement, and evaluate on the following four sub modules. First one
is the Identity & Access Management which responsible for the
subsystem that are connected to our modules for their authentication
or login task. Second is the Order Management, it generates future
strategy that effectively in a company and business analyzation by
collecting data from connected departments. Third is the Medication
Managementthat manages and generates department reports within
the company, it is connected to Order Management with the
submodule to make sure that the best real time visual report outcome
for the company. Fourth Birth and Death Registration that manage

Discussion
The purpose of this study focuses on providing user login
authentication, generating order reports, provide medication
schedule and providing certificates that are used in different
industries. The Identity and Access Management to have a good login
authentication and record and track the user login history. The Order
Management is a method for collecting order data and request it to
Pharmacy that will help the user to request faster. The Medication
Management is responsible of generating and collecting prescription
repords that needed to provided accurate schedule of medication od
medicine. The Birth and Death Registration are to ensure the record
of the patient are registered and settled with efficiency, accuracy, and
accountability to the satisfaction of both staff and relatives.

1.0 PROJECT BACKGROUND
Hospital Management System is a computerized system
designed and programmed to deal with day to day operations
taking place. The program can look after inpatients, outpatients,
records, database treatments, status illness, billings in the
pharmacy and labs. It also maintains hospital information such
as ward id, doctors in charge and department administering. The
purpose of the project is to computerize the Front Office
Management of Hospital to develop software which is user
friendly, simple, fast, and cost – effective. It deals with the
collection of patient’s information, diagnosis details, etc.
Traditionally, it was done manually. The project outlines all the
process followed to come up with the software that is from
analysis to testing the system. Hospital currently uses a manual
system for the management and maintenance of critical
information. The current systems require numerous paper forms,
with data stores spreads throughout the hospital management
infrastructure. Often information is incomplete, or does not follow
management standard. Forms are often lost in transit between
departments requiring a comprehensive auditing process to
ensure that no vital information is lost. Multiple copies of the
same information exist in the hospital and may lead to
inconsistencies in data in various data stores. Project
Description Hospital Management System is powerful, flexible,
and easy to use and is designed and developed to deliver real
conceivable benefits to hospitals and clinics and more
importantly it is backed by reliable and dependable. Hospital
Management System is designed for multi-specialty hospitals, to
cover a wide range of hospital administration and management
processes. It is an integrated end-to-end Hospital Management
System that provides relevant information across the hospital to
support effective decision making for patient care, hospital

administration and critical financial accounting, in a seamless
flow. Hospital Management System is a software product suite
designed to improve the quality and management of clinical care
and hospital health care management in the areas of clinical
process analysis and activity-based costing. Hospital
Management System enables you to develop your organization
and improve its effectiveness and quality of work. Managing the
key processes efficiently is critical to the success of the hospital
helps you manage your processes.

1.1 PROJECT CHARTER

Identity and Access Management is a process by the
authorize person can access where the transaction through
online about the user identity and access from record. It is also a
strategy to ensure that the procedure will become easier and
faster transaction to monitor each user activity.
Order management is a monitoring process for medicinal
record to be used and the other additional for patient needed. It
defines all the pharmaceutical needs associated with each
patient’s. It includes a requesting and performing tests or
consultations, scheduling all requested actions and it also
creating and capturing the order.
Medication Management is a patient help service to
manage their medications, so they can take prescribed medicine
and avoid the adverse effects associated with incorrect
medication administration. It influences patient outcomes,
patient experience and cost. It sits on a unique intersection of
metrics that affect patient care and reimbursement in the value
based payment world.
Birth Registration is the process by which new born babies
will be recorded to provide the first legal process and generally
required for the babies to obtain a birth certificate and has a

result of any other legal documents and rights. The registration
are usually provided by and accomplished in the hospital where
the birth has taken place, and also by the midwives who’s in
charge by deliver babies in various places.
Death Registration is the process by giving off a medical
practitioner certifying the deceased state of the person such as
the registrar of vital statistics that declares the cause of death,
time and location of the deceased person. It is necessary to
have a death registration so that we can compile an accurate,
complete vital for pinpointing the disease and injuries that are
cutting lives short.

1.1.1 VISION

medical practitioner certifying the deceased state of the
person.
c. To create a system that will give the accurate record of
the death patient.

1.1.3 PROJECT SIZE ESTIMATE

The development team need to scope the time and
effort needed to successfully deliver the quality software
products and assess the risk associated with such
estimates as a function of project scope and variation.
The feasibility of delivering working software per such
estimates based on team’s firm’s and industry past
experience.

1.1.4 PROJECT COMPLEX ESTIMATE
Birth Registration is connected to medical records and
data management that the information of legal parent of the
child is needed to know. It is also to keep records that the newly
born babies officially registered and sending details to medical
records.
Death Registration is connected to in medical records
and data management to check the details of the deceased
person. To be recorded the cause of death, time of death,
location, the person in charge and the other confidential
information of the person.
Identity and Access Management is connected to
human resources IV, order management, medication
management, birth registration and death registration. It will
make easier for the user in charge to know about they duties
and responsibilities.
Order Management is connected to inpatient
management that will keep the list of the patient information and
prescription that needed to order from pharmacy. It is also help
the user to organize the record properly.
Medication Management is connected to order
management to track the patient data and medicine needs
prescribed by the doctor in charge and to manage the time
schedule of medication.

1.1.5 SCOPE
Birth Registration is the process by which a new born

Identity and Access Management is a viewing
transaction of each user to order management, medication
management, birth registration and death registration, this
relevant way process can help user to have convenient
exchanging procedure.
Order Management it is a monitoring process of
prescription in patient record and handles a multiple order and
updating reports from time to time which will transact through by
connecting to pharmacy.
Medication Management it is a checking medication
details and monitoring drug to drug interactions and provides the
ability to access patient health records without the constraints of
place and time.

1.1.8 APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY

Figure 1.1 Agile Methodology Cycle

The Agile Scrum Methodology is method to create a
software project. It has series of sprints which every sprint has a
multiple tasks with restricted time duration to develop a
functional system.

PATIENT CARE SYSTEM

BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES
Page 17
Brainstorm the development teams identify the highest-
level processes and then the sub-processes within each high
level process.
Design after the initial planning and ideation, the product
manager and the designer will begin to engage with the
development team. Throughout the program, visual and
interaction design is iterative- just like software architecture.
Development describes an approach to software
development under which requirements and solutions evolve
through collaboration effort of self-organizing and cross-
functional teams and their customers/end-users.

1.1.9 PRIORITIES
The scrum team set 4 levels of priorities. The proponents
set the Order Management as Level 1, Medication Management
as level 2, Identity and Access Management as level 3, Birth
and Death Registration as a level 4.
