There are verbs that need another verb. These are called modals. They
are also called modal auxiliary verbs. They provide additional and specific
meaning to the main verb in the sentence. They help the main verb to express
the mood of the subject.
Modals are used with the -base form of the verb. Some of these modals
are can, could, will, would, shall, should, may, might, must, and ought to. They
are different from regular verbs like dance, run, jump, etc.
