Huawei WLAN AP8050DN/AP8150DN/AP8082DN/AP8182DN

Outdoor Wireless Access Points
Feature Validation and Performance Evaluation

Executive Summary
With development of the big data era, Wi-Fi coverage is increasingly demanded for both indoor and outdoor areas. As one of the leading vendors in
wireless communications technology, Huawei launches a series of 802.11ac Wave 2 outdoor wireless access points (APs) and solutions.
Tolly evaluated Huawei 802.11ac Wave 2 outdoor APs’ performance and features. APs under test include: AP8050DN, AP8150DN, AP8082DN and
AP8182DN. These models are ideal for high user density outdoor scenarios, such as stadiums, plazas, shopping streets, theme parks, etc.
AP8082DN and AP8182DN are Huawei’s high end outdoor 802.11ac Wave 2 APs with 4x4 MIMO and 4 spatial streams. Specifically, AP8182DN
supports 2.4GHz/5GHz band switchover to provide dual 5GHz radios.
AP8050DN and AP8150DN are Huawei’s standard outdoor 802.11ac Wave 2 APs with 2x2 MIMO and 2 spatial streams. Specifically, AP8150DN
supports 2.4GHz/5GHz band switchover to provide dual 5GHz radios.

The Bottom Line

1 Huawei AP8050DN, AP8150DN, AP8082DN and AP8182DN supported 512 maximum concurrent users per AP.

2 Huawei AP8150DN and AP8182DN are outdoor APs using external antennas with 2.4GHz/5GHz band switchover capability. In
the dual 5GHz mode, Huawei AP8182DN supported 240 users to stream a 720p HD video without lagging or 250 users to
browse web pages smoothly simultaneously; AP8150DN supported 220 users to stream a 720p HD video without lagging or
230 users to browse web pages smoothly simultaneously.

3 Huawei AP8050DN and AP8082DN are outdoor APs using internal antennas. Huawei AP8082DN supported 170 users to
stream a 720p HD video without lagging or 180 users to browse web pages smoothly simultaneously; Huawei AP8050DN
supported 120 users to stream a 720p HD video without lagging or 130 users to browse web pages smoothly simultaneously.

4 Huawei AP8150DN and AP8182DN supported Software-defined Radio (SDR) with 2.4GHz/5GHz band switchover capability.
