SPECIFIC GUIDELINES FOR FORMATTING THE PAPERS

1) Authors are advised to make sure that the submitted papers must not contain any text (or)
figures copied from other source. For the usage of FIGURES from other sources such as
books, journals, etc., permission letter obtained from such sources should be attached along
with the paper. Any form of PLAGIARISM is against the ethics of research and it is strictly
discouraged in ICCOS ’11.

2) The designations of the authors shall not be included in the affiliation (or) anywhere in the
paper. Details such as AUTHOR NAMES, INSTITUTION & E-MAIL ID are sufficient.

3) Figures/ Graphs:
The Figures/Graphs should be clearly reproducible and the parameters (or) specifications
in the Figures/Graphs must be legible. Preferably, the Figures/Graphs shall be placed in the
Top/Bottom region of the page. Figure Caption must be centred and placed BELOW the
Figures.

4) Tabulation:
The Tabular Columns shall be exactly aligned within the page width. The captions for the
tabulation must be centred and placed ABOVE the tabulation. The Tabular Columns must be
self-concise and informative. The data given in the form of tabular column shall not be
repeated using a graph/plot (or) vice-versa.

5) Equations:
Equations should be typed using MS EQUATION EDITOR-3.0 (Available in all MS-
WORD formats). Equations copied from any other source shall not be used in the paper.
Equation number also shall be given sequentially.

6) References:
REFERENCES are the backbone for any research paper. It is extremely important for the
AUTHOR to pay more attention and prepare the references using the IEEE template given in
the conference website. The references should be cited within the text using square brackets.
References cited within the text must be in ascending order.

7) Font Size:
Title : 14 pt, times new roman, bold, centred
Author name : 11 pt, times new roman
Affiliation : 10 pt, times new roman
Abstract : 9 pt, times new roman, bold (the heading ‘abstract’ shall be in italics)
Keywords : 9 pt, times new roman, bold, italics
Running text : 10 pt, times new roman
First level headings : 10 pt, times new roman, all caps, centred, heading number shall be in
roman letters [I, II....]
Second level headings: 10 pt, times new roman, italics, left flushed, heading number shall be
in Alphabets [A,B,.....]
Third level headings : 10 pt, times new roman, italics,heading number shall be in Arabic
numerals [1), 2), 3).....]
Figure captions : 8 pt, times new roman
Tabulation captions : 8 pt, times new roman, all caps.
8) Spacing & Indentation:

Page Size: Letter (8.5”×11”)


Margins : Top =1”, Bottom=1”, Right=0.75”, Left=0.75”
Column Width : 3.38"
Coumn Spacing: 0.25”

9) ACKNOWLEDGMENT and REFERENCE sections shall not be numbered and they shall
be treated as first level headings.

further details
