Description:

This module deals with the understanding of light and power circuits in residential/commercial units.
It includes topics regarding wiring systems, lighting systems, power wiring systems, PEC regulations
on light and power wiring systems. Laboratory activities are provided to verify, and practice learned
principles.

Objectives:
Upon completion of the module, the participant must be able to:
1. Measure electrical parameters using electrical instruments;
2. Interpret electrical blueprints; and,
3. Troubleshoot light and power circuits.

Prerequisite:
1. At least high school graduate.

Competency Listing:
1. Solve basic problems involving electrical circuits.
2. Connect lighting circuits using different switching configurations.
3. Troubleshoot lighting and power circuits using basic electrical measuring instruments.
4. Interpret electrical plans.
5. Determine the required conductor sizes and protection requirement for a certain load.
6. Install wiring systems using different raceway methods.
7. Apply certain PEC regulations involving house/commercial wiring.
