GUIDELINES TO THE QUESTION PAPER SETTER
1. The question paper pattern provided below should be adhered to.
Part A : 10 compulsory questions of 1 Mark each
Part B : 10 to answer out of 14 questions of 2 mark each
Part C : 10 to answer out of 14 questions of 3 mark each
Part D : 6 to answer out of 10 questions of 5 mark each.
2. Questions for Part D should be given from the following content area only .
 Examining whether the given function is injective, surjective or not.
 Algebra of Matrices.
 Solution of a system of linear equations by matrix method.
 Second order derivatives.
 Derivative as a rate measurer(Rate of change of quantities involving 2D figures)
 Proofs of Standard integrals ∫ √ , ∫√ , ∫√ ,∫ ,∫ ,
∫ and problems based on these integrals.
 Finding area by the method of integration given in the Exercise 8.1, including
corresponding miscellaneous exercise and worked examples.
 Linear Differential Equation of the form .
 Derivation from Three dimensional Geometry.
 Problems on Independent events.

Part E : 1 to answer out of 2 questions of 10 mark each. (Here each question with
two sub divisions of equal weightage i.e. 6 mark +4 mark for the sub divisions.)

3. Weightage allotted to different topics can’t be changed.


4. Position of the question from a particular topic in a particular Part is
immaterial. However, it is advised to give easier questions in the beginning of
each Part (irrespective of the topic).
5. In case of problems, only those problems that are based on the concepts
discussed in the book (prescribed by the Department of Pre-university
education) can be asked. However, this does not mean that, problems should
be given as they appear in the text book.
6. No question can be asked from the Historical notes given in the text book.
Numerical data given in the form of appendix or numbered tables containing
experimental data and life history of scientists mentioned in the chapters
should be avoided for the examination purpose.
7. Questions should be clear, unambiguous, understandable and free from
grammatical errors. All unwanted data in the questions should be avoided.
8. Instructions to use graph sheet in linear programming problem should be
given.
9. Repetition of the same concepts, laws, facts etc. (which generate the same
answer in different Parts of the question paper) should be avoided.
