Going Abroad
Last year I spent my long holiday abroad in India. To avoid being sea sick, I decided to go
by plane. My father and my mother saw me off at the airport. We arrived there thirty minutes
before the departure time. When I got out of the car, my father told me to inform him when I
would return home because he wanted to pick me up at the airport.
Arriving at the airport; I went straight to the check in counter. The man at the security
control checked my hand luggage and the man at the passport control checked my passport.
When everything was OK, I went into the departure lounge and took a seat. While waiting the
departure time, I bought cheap things at the shop.
After waiting for about twenty minutes, the plane was ready to depart so all passengers
had to get into the plane. A friendly flight attendant asked the passengers to fasten their
seatbelts on board. Suddenly, the plane began to shake and rattle. It was ready to take off. It

Last autumn I was in India during Diwali, the “Festival of Lights” which takes place every year to
celebrate the victory of good over evil. It lasts for five days and is held at the end of October or
