QUESTION 1
a) Globalisation has contributed to the improvement of the standard of living for the people in
developing countries. However, since the pandemic Covid-19 started in early 2020, there
have been negative impacts to the income generation, and the way of living has changed
tremendously. Explain.

b) Globalisation has increased the need for local contractors to go abroad. Explain what the
industry can do to support local contractors in gaining competitive advantages when
competing globally.

QUESTION 2
a) Zamani is currently working at Hilti (M) Sdn Bhd as a supplier of heavy-duty tools for a
construction project. Due to the pandemic of Covid-19, he is unable to achieve his annual
target in sales and has impacted the company cashflow performance. Suggest how he can
utilise the 4Ps concept to increase his sales revenue.

b) Ahmad has just graduated and considering embarking on Chicken Farm business since his
difficulties in finding jobs due to Covid-19 pandemic. However, he is also worried about the
risks he will be facing when venturing into this type of business. Suggest what process he
should be doing to assess the risks.

QUESTION 3
a) Even though the situation of Covid-19 has slowed down the economy, with reputable
technical skills and experience, Zakaria has been offered to work in two construction
companies namely Prodana Aktif Berhad and Sejati Teguh Sdn Bhd. He is in dilemma to
choose the best place to upgrade his career. Evaluate the criteria he should consider when
choosing between the two companies.

b) You are a QA/QC Executive at Sendu Construction Sdn Bhd, responsible for overseeing
manufactured products before commissioning them to the site. After completing the
inspection, your analysis suggests many structural defects in most of the products. Since
there are no standards to justify the defects, the manufacturing company explained that it is
just a minor defect and can be rectified through painting. Furthermore, your project director
insists you to accept all the products and send them to the site as soon as possible. Explain
how you would handle this situation.
