Number Sense Math Strategies 4.

I have to start off by saying I found this exercise very enlightening. I

am usually researching reading, comprehension, fluency ect., but
investigating different math strategies has been very helpful!

My Routine in Math
I follow Saxon Math and I really enjoy it. The first part of math is our
Math Meeting. All the children sit in a circle on the floor and we count
by 1’s, 2’s 5’s, 10’s, 25’s and 100’s. Each child rotates jobs by writing
the date, adding to our base 10’s, creating a pattern, checking the
temperature, creating a fact family question, and so on. Once we have
completed our math meeting, children go back to their desks and
complete their math worksheet that the lesson of the day
encompassed. Finally, they take a similar math sheet home to
complete for homework. The routine is great, but it’s nice to see many
different math games, strategies and general information to help the
students! (Many of the sites are also parent friendly.)
