With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Familiarize with some concepts of Didactics of Mathematics in learning and teaching contexts.

The activity consists of:

a) Watching the video, The Importance of Didactics in Mathematics:

b) Answering the following five questions on a word document.


1. According to the video, what is didactics?
2. According to the video, why is it important the didactics?
3. According to the video, what is a main difference between the Singapore Lesson and
the American lesson?
4. According to the video, Dr. Gardiner is more inclined towards Singapore books or
American Books, why?
5. What do you think of didactics of mathematics after watching the video?

c) Recording a video presenting the five answers given to the questions.

In the Initial Information Environment, you must:

Introduce yourself in the course general forum (Social interaction). Your participation
can include: Name, location, class expectations and email and phone number which
are optional.

In the Learning Environment, you must:

Explore the course syllabus and print the agenda.

Identify and watch the video referenced in unit 1 related to the initial activity.(The

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Individual evidences, consider the following:
The final word document must contain 3 elements. 1. A cover page (portada) 2.
The answers to the 5 questions. 3. The link of your video presenting the previous 5
questions. This document must be posted on the evaluation environment.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
among others, are the following: paragraph e) Plagiarism is to present as your own
work all or part of a written report, task or document of invention carried out by
another person. It also implies the use of citations or lack of references, or it
includes citations where there is no match between these and the reference and

The academic penalties students will face are:
