Communication:

The imparting & the exchanging of information through writing, speaking or using other
medium, is known as communication.

Now technology become an essential element for the communication tool for any organization.
In comparison to the previous generation, the technology drastically made changes in the way of
communication. The evolution brought alternative of post mails to emails and later text messages
came into the world. So there is no doubt that technology has reshaped the communication
industry.

There are few sources of variations in communication via technology:

Alternative of traditional media:

In old times, the sources of media were only television, radio and newspaper. They aid
journalists to catch interesting news. Now it has become more convenient to publish any news by
the means of smart phones, social media, emails etc. This is how technology varies time to time.

We have access to more information:

Now a days, just a click or tap through mouse or skin will take you to old age as internet is
overloaded with bulk of information. There is an end in our abilities like searching, listening,
sharing and storing. Some applications like spreadsheet and others provide built- in tables and
cell styles cause ease in presentation, data organization.

Communication via video:

The most notable advancement of communication is the video communication. It connect the
people personally. Through video chatting, we can see the people living other side of the world.
It is very useful in business level, we can present charts, presentation & more. It makes our lives
easier. Following are the few examples of video communication:

 Zoom
 Skype
 Google meet
 Face-time
 Apps & tools

Cost-effective communication:

In olden times, it is very difficult to message from one place to another. People have to wait for
their reply. Especially, in the aspects of the international phone calls. Let’s also not forget that
travelling outside your country also need to pay roaming charges. Nowadays, we don’t need to
worry about these charges because we have following communication options:

 Whatsapp
 Web chat
 Messenger

No need of hiring people for communication:

Couples of year before people hire someone for the translation to communicate with someone or
people first learn to speak the particular language for that country, you wanted to go. Nowadays,
we don’t need for hiring them because Google Translator & many more apps. Google
Translator is known as the world famous translator, people use it anytime & anywhere without
spending any money.

Social media:

Through technology, social media become an essential tool for the communication. It help us to
keep in touch with the news happen around the world. At first, people read news on newspaper,
radio & television. They have to wait to tomorrow for the news that happen today. Due to this
reason social media plays an important role in our life. Now we can read news anytime and
anywhere by scrolling on the screen of your cell phone.

Digital marketing has change the old traditional method:

No doubt the newspaper & television ads are still popular today but some organizations have left
these methods of marketing & goes to the digital marketing. It includes social apps (like
instagram, twitter & whatsapp etc.), SSP, Google Ad words & internet to spread a word about
their business. These are the major components of digital marketing & their task is to create a
brand awareness & communicate with the target customers.

Connectivity with the friends, family & loved ones:

It is blessing of technology that has brought the loved one closer to us. We can easily
communicate with our friends, relatives & family. We can talk instantly via cellphones.
Moreover, we can send videos, images, messages through social media, e-mail & etc. people can
now spend more time with their loved ones.

Trend of BYOD:

BYOD stands for Bring Your Own Device. Now every organization is going to adopt this trend
because it increases satisfaction & productivity of the employees. The use of mobile phone is
very common now. Employees feels comforts with use of electronic devices. They can now
manage their work from their home.

Communication & technology:

Technology can be a blessing or a curse for us because now every organization is going fast in
the field of technology. New devices need a skilled full person, the organization need to pay
more attention towards the training of the employees. No doubt technology improves the
productivity but it also complicate the intercommunication, market strategies & public relation.

The bottom line:

No doubt that we are living in the most convenient lives, with all the facilities available to us. It
not only help us. It also make us speechless, few people can talk verbally each other. We are
going to lose the personal touch which is very important for the human being. Due to technology,
many people can lose their jobs.
